PROFESSOR BINGO PRESENTS: VERY SPECIAL VALENTINE TREATS ...FOR ALL AGES-"HEARTS" & "TWILIGHT"

WELCOME TO BOOKIN' WITH BINGO'S
"PROFESSOR BINGO PRESENTS DAY"
I'M EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THIS TUESDAY'S
SPECIAL, MULTI-LEVEL, VALENTINE'S DAY
CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULT BOOK CHOICES!
BOTH GIVEAWAYS ENDED
PART ONE: YOUNG CHILDREN
A STRING OF HEARTS
BY LAURA MALONE ELLIOTT
ILLUSTRATED BY LYNN MUNSINGER

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Valentines come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Some are homemade and some are store-bought. Some are funny and some are not. Sam wants to give just the right valentine to the most popular girl in the class, Tiffany. But what kind is the right kind? Mary Ann helps Sam figure out how to make all sorts of valentines. But will Tiffany even notice Sam if he gives her a special valentine?

Laura Malone Elliott and Lynn Munsinger’s charming story shows how the best friends are often the ones you may not know you have—until Valentine’s Day!—and even a simple string of hearts can show a friend how special he is.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR AND ILLUSTRATOR:
AUTHOR LAURA MALONE ELLIOTT
A long-time journalist, Laura Malone Elliott began writing picture books when her son and daughter were young, as bedtime stories for them to work through typical childhood conundrums. Her list of published works includes: Hunter's Best Friend at School (an IRA/CBC Children's Choice, ABA's Booksense 76, Oppenheim Best Book for Children, Virginia Readers' Choice finalist 2006–07, and listed on Texas Library Association 2003 2 X 2 Reading List); Hunter and Stripe and the Soccer Showdown (a Book Sense Children's Pick); Hunter's Big Sister; and A String of Hearts (a Junior Library Guild Selection).

Elliott also writes historical fiction for older readers, including Under a War-Torn Sky (a NCSS/CBC Notable Book in Social Studies, a Jefferson Cup Honor Book, winner of Borders' Original Voices Award for YA LIterature, a Bank Street College of Education Best Children's Books, and a finalist for the Iowa, PA, SC, and MD state teen literature awards); its sequel, A Troubled Peace (a NCSS/CBC Notable Book in Social Studies); Give Me Liberty; Annie, Between the States (a New York Public Library Book for the Teen Age, IRA Teachers' Choice, and VA Reader's Choice finalist); and Flying South (winner of the Joan G. Sugarman Children's Literature Award).

Laura Malone Elliott wrote about children, women's issues, health, and the arts for the Washingtonian magazine and was twice a finalist for a National Magazine Award and recipient of numerous Dateline awards for her reporting.

ILLUSTRATOR LYNN MUNSINGER

PART TWO: YOUNG ADULT/ADULT
THE TWILIGHT SAGA
BY STEPHANIE MEYER

WIN ALL FOUR NEW HARDBACK BOOKS!

ABOUT THE BOOKS:
TWILIGHT
Isabella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Isabella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Isabella, the person Edward holds most dear. The lovers find themselves balanced precariously on the point of a knife-between desire and danger.
NEW MOON
Shoot, I muttered when the paper sliced my finger; I pulled it out to examine the damage. A single drop of blood oozed from the tiny cut.It all happened very quickly then.Edward threw himself at me, flinging me back across the table...I tumbled down to the floor by the piano, with my arms thrown out instinctively to catch my fall, into the jagged shards of glass. I felt the searing, stinging pain that ran from my wrist to the crease inside my elbow. Dazed and disoriented, I looked up from the bright red blood pulsing out of my arm-into the fevered eyes of the six suddenly ravenous vampires.
ECLIPSE
Readers captivated by Twilight and New Moon will eagerly devour Eclipse, the much anticipated third book in Stephenie Meyer's riveting vampire love saga. As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob --- knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf.
BREAKING DAWN
To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black, a tumultuous year of temptation, loss, and strife have led her to the ultimate turning point. Her imminent choice to either join the dark but seductive world of immortals or to pursue a fully human life has become the thread from which the fates of two tribes hangs.

Now that Bella has made her decision, a startling chain of unprecedented events is about to unfold with potentially devastating, and unfathomable, consequences. Just when the frayed strands of Bella's life-first discovered in Twilight, then scattered and torn in New Moon and Eclipse-seem ready to heal and knit together, could they be destroyed... forever?

The astonishing, breathlessly anticipated conclusion to the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Stephenie Meyer's life changed dramatically on June 2, 2003. The stay-at-home mother of three young sons woke-up from a dream featuring seemingly real characters that she could not get out of her head.

"Though I had a million things to do, I stayed in bed, thinking about the dream. Unwillingly, I eventually got up and did the immediate necessities, and then put everything that I possibly could on the back burner and sat down at the computer to write-something I hadn't done in so long that I wondered why I was bothering."

Meyer invented the plot during the day through swim lessons and potty training, then writing it out late at night when the house was quiet. Three months later she finished her first novel, Twilight. With encouragement from her older sister (the only other person who knew she had written a book), Meyer submitted her manuscript to various literary agencies. Twilight was picked out of a slush pile at Writer's House and eventually made its way to Little, Brown where everyone fell immediately in love with the gripping, star-crossed lovers theme.

Twilight was one of 2005's most talked about novels and within weeks of its release the book debuted at #5 on The New York Times bestseller list. Among its many accolades, Twilight was named an "ALA Top Ten Books for Young Adults," an Amazon.com "Best Book of the Decade ... So Far", and a Publishers Weekly Best Book of the Year. Thanks for the giveaway! The synopsis of "A String of Hearts" reminds me of grade school--the angst associated with the giving of valentines and wondering whether that "special person" would get the message. I would like to win this book for two reasons: 1) I think my little niece would love this book and 2) I've already read the Twilight saga--and LOVED IT--so I'd like to see someone who hasn't read it yet enjoy the series!
