LET'S GET COZY: SHOE DONE IT - A PREVIEW AND GIVEAWAY

SHOE DONE IT
An Accessories Murder
BY GRACE CARROLL

ABOUT THE BOOK:
The first book in an exciting new series featuring MarySue Jensen, a San Francisco society maven and Rita Jewel, top fashionista at Dolce’s boutique.

Rita Jewel has a dream job selling fabulous clothes and accessories to the socialites of San Francisco at Dolce’s Boutique. But when a pair of heels becomes a clue in a murder, Rita finds herself engaged in a high-end crime of fashion.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Carol Grace Culver (aka Grace Carroll) was born with wanderlust. She was raised in Illinois, but longed to travel. She spent her junior year in college at the Sorbonne in Paris. Armed with a BA in French, she went to San Francisco to seek her fame and fortune. There she landed a job as switchboard operator and receptionist at KQED, the public TV station, where she met her future husband and did on-the-air promos in French for her idol, Julia Child, showing her parents that French was a useful major after all.

Restless after five years, she joined the hospital ship HOPE for three voyages — Guinea, Nicaragua, and Tunisia. After she married, she and her husband went to Algeria and Iran to work. They loved the excitement of living abroad, but returned to California to raise their two children in their mountain-top home overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Carol says that writing is another way of making life exciting.

Carol has published over 35 romance novels for Harlequin/Silhouette. She’s written 2 single title romances and three Young Adult novels. She is currently writing mysteries. The first — A GOOD DAY TO PIE — was published in August 2011, the second SHOE DONE IT came out in October 2011.

FROM THE BERKLEY PRIME CRIME NEWSLETTER:A Letter from Grace Carroll:
Dear Readers,
How lucky am I to set my new accessories mystery series in San Francisco, my favorite city. I came to San Francisco right out of college where I found a job at KQED the public TV station. There I did promotion spots for Julia Child’s cooking shows and met the beautiful, the rich, the famous, and also my husband. We now live thirty miles south of the City on a bucolic mountain top where you can be sure murders are strictly prohibited.

Back in the City, my heroine, Rita Jewel has a dream job of selling clothes and accessories to ...yes, the beautiful, the rich and the famous. In the first book, SHOE DONE IT, Rita finds one of her customers has been murdered while wearing newly purchased silver stilettos. The shoes are missing and now Rita’s a suspect! What’s a girl got to do to convince the sexy cop she didn’t do it? Well, first she must dress the part of the innocent bystander. Fortunately that’s no problem with the help of her employee discount and her generous boss, Dolce.

When Rita’s not lusting over stilettos she’s drooling over food. She can’t cook, so she relies on take-out or dates with one of the three men in her life. What’s that, you say? She lives in a restaurant heaven where three eligible men either cook for her or take her out to eat?! It could happen. But this is fiction.

It was such fun to write this series about Rita’s adventures because I am so much like Rita. Of course she’s a little younger, smarter, prettier, and more determined, but I’m just as interested in clothes and food and proving herself innocent as she is. After you read SHOE DONE IT, I hope you will love her as much as I do.

I love cozies. I have always like buying shoes becuase my fluctuating weight usually didn't make much of a difference in shoe size, so shoes were fun to buy. Now,with arthritis the fun is over but I still think I would enjoy the shoe based cozy.

From her site, I saw that Carol Culver has written,'A Good Day to Pie', where someone dies from eating pie. I think I would like to read that cozy.
