LET'S GET COZY! ASSAULTED PRETZEL: A PREVIEW AND GIVEAWAY

GIVEAWAY ENDED
ASSAULTED PRETZEL
 An Amish Mystery
BY LAURA BRADFORD
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Claire Weatherly found the simple life she always wanted when she opened a gift shop in Heavenly, Pennsylvania—a small town in the heart of Amish country. But when murder disrupts her Heavenly home, it’s up to Claire and Detective Jakob Fisher to find the not-so-simple truth.

The quiet town of Heavenly is buzzing with excitement over the latest guests at the local inn, Sleep Heavenly. Toy manufacturer Rob Karble is in town to meet the members of the Amish community who will soon be crafting a new toy line for his company. But when word gets out that Karble intends to use the Amish designs without employing the Amish to make them, someone sends the interloper to his final reward.

No one wants to believe anyone from the Amish community could commit such an act, but as Claire and Detective Fisher have learned, no one is above sin—or suspicion.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Laura Bradford is the author of the new Amish Mysteries (Berkley Prime Crime/Penguin).

In addition to this new series, Laura is also the bestselling author of the Southern Sewing Circle Mystery Series (under her pen name, Elizabeth Lynn Casey), and an award winning romance author for Harlequin American. Her third romance, MIRACLE BABY, was named RT Magazine's Reviewer's Choice Award Winner for Best Harlequin American of 2010. KAYLA'S DADDY—her first romance—was nominated for the same award and has gone on to be translated in both Spain and Germany.

A graduate of Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, Laura lives in New York with her family.

AN EXCERPT FROM ASSAULTED PRETZEL:

Claire Weatherly was just reaching for a slice of Ruth Miller’s second-to-none Shoo Fly Pie when she heard it—the slow rolling rumble of an approaching storm that threatened to put the kibosh on the treat she’d been hankering for all week. Shielding the plate with her body, she dove her fork into the gooey goodness and—

“You did what?”

“I made some calls. Gathered some numbers. There’s no comparison.”

“I didn’t tell you to make those calls!”

“You didn’t tell me? Are you kidding me?”

Poof! The fork in her hand, the pie on her plate, and the feel of the autumn sun on her face were gone. In their place was the whisper of moonlight across the bottom of her comforter and the very real sound of two people arguing in the room across the hall.

She willed her eyes to close and her thoughts to return to the food festival that had seemed so real only moments earlier, but she couldn’t make it happen. The approaching storm in her dreams had shown its true colors.
