MY THOUGHTS/REVIEW:
Andrew Gross’s latest novel, NO WAY BACK, is his usual action thriller that keeps you turning pages to find out where the story will lead. I am not sure if it is because of co-writing some books with James Patterson or not, but I like that Gross also uses the short chapters that keep readers wanting to read “just one more” before putting the book down.

Following the death of loved ones, two very different women surprisingly come together in NO WAY BACK to give this narrative a double story line. When Wendy Gould is the only witness to a murder, she discovers that there are agents who are unwavering in their quest to keep her silent. If they have to kill Wendy to accomplish their goal, then so be it. Wendy is a well trained former police officer, now turned soccer mom in the suburbs, but she hasn’t lost her edge. In the second theme, Lauritzia Velez has a dangerous secret she must use to prove her innocence as she flees from Mexican drug lords who are trying to find her.

Interestingly, there two women team up in order to save their lives and find themselves involved in the corruption and deception of some very nasty criminals and drug lords. The pursuit of their foes leads them all the way to the upper levels of some corrupt government officials.

How the two women work their way through this dangerous faction resulting in a rather surprising ending, is accomplished through Gross’s impressively well developed characters. He has woven in plenty of twists and turns in NO WAY BACK thus making it another of his novels you will want to have on your TBR list!
