COOKIE ANIMALS:
A COOKBOOK & COOKIE CUTTER SET
BY DEBORA PEARSON
ILLUSTRATED BY VLASTA VAN KAMPEN

ABOUT THE SET:
Make your own animal cookies and crackers with this complete baking kit—a great gift for aspiring bakers! Fourteen brightly colored cookie cutters and a sturdy baking pan are pleasingly presented in a nifty display box, along with a cute spiral bound cookbook.

From alligators and cows to pigs and zebras, these farmyard and jungle animals are sure to make cooking—and playing—fun!

Children love to bake with the adults in their lives their parents, grandparents, and care givers. Here is the perfect early cookbook! For simple math, eye-hand coordination, sequencing, and most of all, FUN, what is better than baking? And when the bonus turns out to be eye-pleasing (and stomach pleasing!) cookies, both children and adults win.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
The cookbook itself is spiral bound and includes all kinds of great cooking ideas that children will enjoy. It is filled with lots of fun game, craft and party ideas. It also has cool suggestions for other things you can do with the cookie cutters, such as tracing around them to make your own wrapping paper, floating them in the bathtub, even using them to shape play dough.

I particularly liked the colorful illustrations as well as the author including Safety Tips for children to go by. It reminds children that before they start, they must ask their parents or another grown-up to do the recipes together. Reminding little bakers about making sure the handles of pots on top of the stove are turned away from the edge so no one bumps them. Also, a reminder to use pot holders and to be careful around a stove because things get so hot.
