REMINDER ABOUT THE BOOK:
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber comes a heartwarming new series based in the Pacific Northwest town of Cedar Cove, where a charming cast of characters finds love, forgiveness, and renewal behind the doors of the cozy Rose Harbor Inn.

Jo Marie Rose first arrives in Cedar Cove seeking a sense of peace and a fresh start. Coping with the death of her husband, she purchases a local bed-and-breakfast—the newly christened Rose Harbor Inn—ready to begin her life anew. Yet the inn holds more surprises than Jo Marie can imagine.

Her first guest is Joshua Weaver, who has come home to care for his ailing stepfather. The two have never seen eye to eye, and Joshua has little hope that they can reconcile their differences. But a long-lost acquaintance from Joshua’s high school days proves to him that forgiveness is never out of reach and love can bloom even where it’s least expected.

The other guest is Abby Kincaid, who has returned to Cedar Cove to attend her brother’s wedding. Back for the first time in twenty years, she almost wishes she hadn’t come, the picturesque town harboring painful memories from her past. And while Abby reconnects with family and old friends, she realizes she can only move on if she truly allows herself to let go.

A touching novel of life’s grand possibilities and the heart’s ability to heal, The Inn at Rose Harbor is a welcome introduction to an unforgettable set of friends.

AN EXCERPT FROM THE INN AT ROSE HARBOR:
Chapter 1

Last night I dreamed of Paul.

He’s never far from my thoughts—not a day passes when he isn’t with me—but he hasn’t been in my dreams until now.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Debbie Macomber, the author of Hannah’s List, 1022 Evergreen Place, Summer on Blossom Street, 92 Pacific Boulevard, and Twenty Wishes, is a leading voice in women’s fiction. Three of her novels have scored the #1 slot on the New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly bestseller lists. Debbie Macomber’s Mrs. Miracle was Hallmark Channel’s top-watched movie for 2009. This prolific author has more than 140 million copies of her books in print worldwide.
MY THOUGHTS/PREVIEW:
Debbie Macomber has a new series and that is exciting news! The first in the series is THE INN AT ROSE HARBOR which follows in the best selling tradition of Debbie Macomber and her delightful novels. Set once more in Cedar Cove that is modeled after Debbie’s own hometown, the series starts out centering on a recent widow. Jo Marie Rose’s husband died in the war in Afghanistan and now in her late 30s she hopes to get a new lease on life and try to heal from her tragic loss.

Jo Marie buys a bed-and-breakfast and believes her husband would have approved. This should keep her busy while also allowing her to interact with new people and not stay shut away. The inn’s first guest is one Joshua Weaver. He has come back to Cedar Cove to gather his mother’s things since she passed away. They mean a lot to him and he braves seeing his stepfather to do it. Never having had a positive relationship, the two rarely see eye-to-eye. However, finding that his stepfather is battling a serious illness on his own, Joshua feels he must find a way to get along with him. Perhaps, there is even hope of reconciliation but Joshua doubts that given their past.

Another guest is in town for her brother’s wedding. Abby Kincaid hasn’t been back for at least 10 years having left following a tragic accident where her best friend was killed. Abby has carried that guilt with her all these years and worries how she will be received in town?

Readers of the other Cedar Cove series books will be delighted to see some of those characters making appearances and giving promise of more to come in this series. I found listening to Lorelei King made the book come to life for me in even an easier way then usual. In that these three main characters are dynamic and fully developed, readers instantly become captivated by their lives This theme is a hallmark of Debbie Macomber’s novels.

Filled with the kind of pull on your heartstrings drama, THE INN AT ROSE HARBOR looks like a great place to check in! With inspiration, romance, and some down home fun, the new series is sure to develop a following from this very first installment, and like me, readers are surely asking already, “When will the next book in the series be out?”!
