THE WAY LIFE SHOULD BE
BY CHRISTINA BAKER KLINE
BY CHRISTINA BAKER KLINE
ABOUT THE BOOK:
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Orphan Train comes a novel of love, risk, and self-discovery.
Angela can feel the clock ticking. She is single in New York City, stuck in a job she doesn’t want and a life that seems to have, somehow, just happened. She inherited a flair for Italian cooking from her grandmother, but she never seems to have the time for it—these days, her oven holds only sweaters. Tacked to her office bulletin board is a photo from a magazine of a tidy cottage on the coast of Maine—a charming reminder of a life that could be hers, if she could only muster the courage to go after it.
On
a hope and a chance, Angela decides to pack it all up and move to
Maine, finding the nudge she needs in the dating profile of a handsome
sailor who loves dogs and Italian food. But her new home isn’t quite
matching up with the fantasy. Far from everything familiar, Angela
begins to rebuild her life from the ground up. Working at a local
coffeehouse, she begins to discover the pleasures and secrets of her new
small-town community and, in the process, realizes there’s really no
such thing as the way life should be.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Christina Baker Kline is the author of five novels. She lives out-side of New York City and on the coast of Maine.

The idea of getting away from it all makes this story so compelling to me.

I've been there before ... wanting to get away from everything and I like Patricia find that concept compelling ... plus Maine is a unique area so please add my name to drawing.

I am relate to her not liking the job that she had. I had one with great pay and benefits but it was mind numbing! When I moved to CA, I did not want to contine with the same job even though I could have. I did get another job in Federal Agency that drove me up a wall but I kept moving to different ones until I found one that I loved. It was worth it.

I feel a romantic quality of starting over in a new town/area where you know no one. If only I were a few decades younger and a lot more adventurous.

The concept of overworking, not being thrilled with a job and having get-a-way photos on a bulletin board I can relate. I stayed so this book sounds interesting that the character makes her move to Maine sounds great to me. Book sounds entertaining to me.
