I'd read the first one, first (haven't read any yet), as I often find that a series read out of order can be confusing, full of spoilers and when you go backwards the author's earlier writing style isn't as polished.

I've heard awesome things about James Patterson's books. The Maximum ride books remind me of the Dark Angel series that was on for awhile, except these are cross breads with bird DNA. No I haven't had a chance to read any of them yet, as I said I've heard alot about them. I would love given the choice to start with the first book of the series.

I haven't read any, so I'd start at the beginning. My son is a fan of this series. I'm not sure how far he's gotten. We have trouble finding books he likes and often forget when we make it to the big-city bookstore.

I love Patterson Books. I would start with the first book, but I'm curious if this is the same Max character from the book "When the Wind Blows". I read this over a year ago.
