My favorite summer read would have to be Summerhouse by Jude Deveroux. I love books with strong female characters and Jude does not let me down (nor did she let me down when years later she came out with return to Summerhouse).
I still pick this up off my shelf about every other year to once again hang out with these great women.

I hope I am not duplicating.. if so delete one or the other... my all time favorite summer read is any book that will take me to far off places and untold adventures... reading through some of the comments... my favorites are among them so as to not reapeat... I will be trying my best to read Jane Eyre novels and also War and Peace ... I have never read either/or and want to try to do so and hopefully enjoy all of them greatly. thanks

I don't know if I can come up with one favorite summer reading memory, but one of my fondest memories is going to the library while my grandmother got her hair done and leaving with a huge stack of books to read until the next week when I got to do it all again!
