CHOSEN BY DESIRE: PREVIEW AND GIVEAWAY

GIVEAWAY ENDED
CHOSEN BY DESIRE

BY KATE PERRY

ABOUT THE BOOK:

It's down to the wire and Carrie Woods is leaving China without the proof she needs for her thesis: Wei Lin's journal. While on a final tour of the monastery, Carrie finally locates the scrolls and attempts to photograph the documents. Caught in a sticky situation, Carrie takes the scrolls, only to notice a mysterious monk watching her--the same monk that she's seen each time she's taken a tour. Unable to return the scrolls, she travels back to California and isn't too thrilled when she notices the monk at the airport.

Maximillian Prescott first came to the monastery as an orphaned teenager when he inherited the Book of Metal from a distant uncle he hardly knew. After spotting a woman stealing from the monastery, he follows her to get back the documents he knows she's stolen. Max is further intrigued when he finds out that the chatty woman is friends with his archrival, Rhys Llewellyn, and he will stop at nothing to get back everything he's lost.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

As a little girl, Kate dreamt of many things. Like becoming a ninja. Dressing up in black and carrying a big sword? Seemed like a no brainer.

However, Fate had other plans for her, and she studied Kung Fu San Soo instead. A seventh degree black belt, Kate now has more weapons than she ever imagined-including several swords.

She lives in San Francisco with her love, Nate. Voted by her friends as the woman they'd most want to stroll with down a dark alley, Kate's as likely to be spotted at the opera as she is doing tai chi in Golden Gate Park. Usually wearing black-in both cases.

I'm glad zero goldfish died. My goldfish always dies pretty quickly. This is a lucky sign for Chosen by Desire.

I love that the author ate 26 cupcakes and was able to count them. :) It's a huge feat to write a book and I'm sure every single sprinkle was needed. :) Thanks for counting me in!

The fun fact I liked was that 26.5 cupcakes were consumed while writing Chosen By Desire. I'm wondering what happened to that 1/2 of a cupcake. :)

One thing I learned after reading Kate Perry's interview is that when she begins to write a novel she starts with the character (heroine) and then has that character define the conflict and plot, building the story around her. I thought that was interesting since I would think the plot would come first.
