DENISE'S DAILY DOZEN BLOG TOUR: REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY

GIVEAWAY ENDED
DENISE'S DAILY DOZEN

BY DENISE AUSTIN

ABOUT THE BOOK:

From Denise Austin comes the perfect health book for anyone who wants to live better but just can't seem to find the time. Much more than just another excercise book, Denise's Daily Dozen covers a whole range of health and diet related concepts yet manages it all in a no-stress, time-conscious program of 12's. At it's core, this book contains the minimum daily requirements to keep the reader flexible, strong and trim. Organized simply into seven chapters, which equal the seven days of the week, it covers a full week in daily allotments. Each day will have it's own focus from Monday being "fat burning day" to Sunday's "recharge and rejuvenate." Denise has created a total body program, including a 7-day balanced meal plan that includes healthy recipes, and a workout that encompasses 12 exercises done in 12 minutes each day. Everyone can take just 12 minutes, at whatever time of the day works for them, and turn it over to these simple and fun exercises. Cardio, toning, yoga and breathing exercises...they're all here but in a way the maximizes effect while minimizing time. Beyond a dozen exercises for each day of the week this book will include many other of Denises dozens for each day.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

A native of San Pedro, California, Denise started gymnastics at the age of 12 and earned an athletic scholarship to the University of Arizona, graduating in 1979 with an exercise physiology degree. She began her career teaching aerobic exercise classes in the Los Angeles area and went on to cohost the The Jack LaLanne Show, in 1981. (Denise considers Jack LaLanne one of her role models, and she is delighted to still speak regularly with the 94-year-old fitness legend.)

During more than 25 years promoting health and fitness, Denise has created 82 workout videos or DVDs. Her enormous number of sales led to her 2003 induction into the Video Hall of Fame.

Denise has been married for 25 years to Jeff Austin, a sports attorney and brother of tennis champ Tracy Austin. They share a home with their two teenage daughters, Kelly and Katie.

REVIEW:

Finally, a common sense, easy to follow diet plan. With Denise's total body program, even I could follow it. I liked the book, as you can tell from the description above, because it is well organized and easy to follow. With the 7 day balanced meal plan that even includes some healthy recipes, and the workout part which is really 12 exercises that can be easily done in the allotted 12 minutes each day, you can fit them in whatever time you like so there is no reason for an excuse. The exercises vary so you aren't bored and they cover toning, yoga, cardio, and breathing type exercises.

With the book zeroing in on healthy living and eating, it helps you to lose weight and exercise but in a practical manner without killing yourself. The meal plans are healthy and well-balanced thus making it really easy to follow especially when you know how good it is for you. And due to the right amount of exercises, you can follow the book for three weeks and thus make Denise's Daily Dozen easy to follow.

As stated, the organization is what makes it so practical as the exercises are right in front and easy to follow because their instructions are simple, taking you step by step though them. I think because they seem so easy, it makes you more liable to stick with it and maybe even wonder if they are too easy but remember, this is a life style change and not a crazy diet real people can't follow. I have only started but am already seeing results with the biggest result being in the attitude the book instills in you by making everything so practical, easy and positive. Cheers for you, Denise! You may have solved the obesity problem in America...stay tuned and I will let you all know in the future.

I started working out to Denise 25 years ago watching her on TV. She had the best show for exercising to.
What I appreciate most about Denise is she actually has a degree in exercise physiology and has a background in P.E. She practices what she preaches too. Bounced back from both pregnancies with what appeared to be ease.
I would love to win this for obvious reasons.

Boy, Jack Lalanne is a blast from the past. I'm not surprised she found him helpful as they both are full of such energy! And I didn't know about Tracy Austin being her sister-in-law. How interesting.
Thanks for the chance to win.

I was surprised to learn that Denise is only 5'4". Just a little bit taller than I am :)

I'm really interested in seeing how the 12 minutes a day approach to exercise works.

Thanks!

I was looking at the success stories and they are quite inspiring. The first one just hit me because she was 190lbs and is now 120. I am 199 and want to be 130. Perhaps this book can help.

I love the online program that is tailored to each individual! I just wish I could find a way to enroll without the "get fit kit."

I like how she had the online diet program and divided it into logical organized parts...especially in that it gave me motivation. I also enjoy the photograph section

I've known who she is, but thought her work was more limited to video workouts and didn't realize that she had authored so many books.
