LIVING OPRAH
My One Year Experiment to Walk the
Walk of the Queen of the Talk
BY ROBYN OKRANT
ABOUT THE BOOK:
What happens when a thirty-five-year-old average American woman spends one year following every piece of Oprah Winfrey's advice on how to "live your best life"? Robyn Okrant devoted 2008 to adhering to all of Oprah's suggestions and guidance delivered via her television show, her Web site, and her magazine. LIVING OPRAH is a month-by-month account of that year. Some of the challenges included enrollment in Oprah's Best Life Challenge for physical fitness and weight control, living vegan, and participating in Oprah's Book Club. After 365 days of LIVING OPRAH, Okrant reflects on the rewards won and lessons learned as well as the tolls exacted by the experiment.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Robyn Okrant is a writer, director, performer, and yoga teacher. She graduated from Bennington College in Vermont, majoring in Drama (both socially and academically) and holds an MFA in performance from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Robyn has produced, written, and directed many original pieces: from traditional stage plays to solo performances to sketch comedy to improvised full-length plays, and, most recently, short films.

Oh, I love Oprah! She has a very large voice in the media. I too, would love to find out if the cost, time and money is worth the end result in following her advice. What an interesting idea and book! Thank you for this nice giveaway and please count me in.

She wondered if the time and money would be worth living like Oprah.

One reason she did this is she wondered if the costs - time and money - would be worth the effects of Living Oprah

I found out she was very curious...as Oprah frequently urges her viewers and readers to “Live Your Best Life,” she wondered what would happen if one of us committed ourselves whole-heartedly to her lifestyle suggestions. Would the financial and time costs of living as Oprah prescribes be worth the results?

After reading the Happiness Project, it can't hurt to get some more help from Oprah. I saw her first show when I lived in Chicago. I love Oprah! I love the way she changed her program to be so positive and helpful. Thanks Bingo for the opportunity to win this. After Christmas giveaways are always the best and on these cold winter days what's better than curling up with a good book and pretending the dust in house will mysteriously evaporate on it's own!
