DREAMS THAT WON'T LET GO: REVELL BLOG TOUR: REVIEW

DREAMS THAT WON'T LET GO

BY STACY HAWKINS ADAMS

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Indigo Burns is excited. Her wedding preparations to the man of her dreams are underway, her photography career is a success, and her family seems to be doing better than ever—all except her brother Reuben, who nobody has seen in years. But that’s about to change.

When Reuben decides to move back home to Jubilant, Texas, he hopes to find healing with his sisters. But Indigo isn’t so sure their relationship can be mended. And when younger sister Yasmin makes a life-altering choice, it seems like only a miracle can put the Burns family back together.

Will these siblings – and the rest of their family - ever be able to love unconditionally and release each other to live their dreams?

REVIEW:

With this third book in the Jubilant Soul Series, DREAMS THAT WON'T LET GO, Stacy Hawkins Adams ties things up with a neat little bow. However, you do not have to have read the other two books to enjoy this one. I had not read the others and yet I found this to be a well written and direct and I was able to follow the story easily. It can certainly stand on its own but surely is even better when combined with the first two as well.

As the story explores family dynamics, it shows how the Burns family has their own personal issues and yet they are able to deal with them without losing their love for each other. For example, the idea of having feelings such as jealousy toward a loved one is possible without losing your faith in each other.

As wedding plans go, Indigo Burns is no different than most girls who dream of their wedding from a young age. But Indigo is no stranger to fulfilling her dreams. She wanted to become a successful photographer and go on to marry the man she always pictured in her mind and that was all coming to be. Of course, one of her dreams is that she wants her family to go back to being the way they were at one time and that includes with her brother, Rueben. Rueben is returning to Jubilant, where their home is in Texas, and as much as Indigo wants a reconciliation of her family, it may not happen yet and she has to be real about that fact. Indigo will never truly forget about Reuben running off so early causing a break in the family. His return just might work but she then has to deal with her sister Yasmin and what Indigo thinks is a very wrong and selfish choice on her part.

Ms. Adams does a wonderful job in proving how certain challenges and choices can bring people together, as well as separate them. Her writing shows real emotions and gives rise to very practical answers to problems people, even families, have! If this book is any indication of the first two in the series, then I am sure that followers of the Jubilant Soul Series must be very satisfied with the concluding piece of the trilogy but probably also sad it has ended.
