SWINGING ON A STAR: MY REVIEW

SWINGING ON A STAR
WEDDINGS BY BELLA-BOOK TWO
BY JANICE THOMPSON

ABOUT THE BOOK:

There's a fine line between ambitious and crazy.

Bella's just not sure where it is.

Bella Rossi's life is nearing perfection. Not only does she have the perfect guy, but she's also running a successful wedding-planning business and is about to plan its most ambitious wedding yet--a Renaissance-themed fairy tale come true, complete with period costumes and foods, horse-drawn carriages, and even a castle. There's only one hitch. The best man just happens to be Hollywood's hottest and most eligible bachelor, and he's showing an interest in Bella. Oh, and did we mention he's staying at her house to avoid the paparazzi?

With all the pressure surrounding this wedding, Bella's not sure she's going to make it through. Add her starstruck sister and her feuding aunt and uncle, and you've got a recipe for disaster--and a lot of laughs.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Janice Thompson is a seasoned romance author and native Texan. An experienced wedding coordinator herself, Thompson brings alive in her books the everyday drama and humor of getting married. She is the author of Fools Rush In and Swinging on a Star. She lives in Texas.

REVIEW:

The “Weddings by Bella” Series by Janice Thompson now has a second book. SWINGING ON A STAR pretty much takes off from where FOOLS RUSH IN ended. However, you don’t have to have read it to enjoy this newest romantic and humorous addition. It stands alone and is quite enjoyable. SWINGING ON A STAR is set in Galveston, Texas, and Thompson’s living in Texas gives the story a beautifully descriptive arena that is quite authentic. Filled with all the colorful characters from the first book, we find Bella Rossi, who is a wedding planner, working on an elaborate medieval themed wedding. The best man, or in this case, the “first knight” just happens to be a gorgeous Hollywood hottie, Brock Benson who is also known more regularly as Vinnie. Bella has to keep him under wraps so the crazed paparazzi don’t ruin the wedding.

Along with Bella’s blossoming relationship with DJ, the whole Rossi family adds to the excitement and chaos that seems to surround weddings but ten-fold in this case. The Rossi family is filled with enjoyable characters who will tickle your funny bone as well as add excitement to the plot…and problems for the wedding planner. With Sophia having a crush on “Brock”, Bubba’s first appearance and introduction at the opera, and Rosa’s highly anticipated debut on the Food Network, this is possibly an experience doomed from the start.

Janice Thompson gives readers a delightfully fun read. If you are in the mood for a light, hilarious, and entertaining time, this is the book for you!

Available January 2010 at your favorite bookseller from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group.

Thank you so much for the sweet review. I'm so glad you enjoyed the book. The next one is a lot of fun, too! It's the final book in the series. The relatives are coming from Italy for Rosa and Laz's wedding!

Thanks again for the review!
