FLIRTING WITH FOREVER
BY GWYN CREADY
ABOUT THE BOOK:
In RITA® Award–winning author Gwyn Cready’s fun and sexy new time-travel adventure, an ambitious writer discovers that bad-boy painters are as timeless—and irresistible—as their art. .
Art historian Campbell Stratford is about to make a name for herself with her scandalously sexy tell-all “fictographies” of famous seventeenth-century artists, but she’s more intimately familiar with her subjects than her eager readers can imagine. Thanks to a time portal she accidentally discovered, she has caused quite a stir in the Great Beyond. To save their reputations, the Guild protecting dead artists convinces playboy Peter Lely, portraitist to the king, to sabotage Cam’s latest project. A few hours posing on Sir Peter’s modeling chaise leads to a night of seductive passion—then Cam returns home and discovers his betrayal. But before she can turn her angry pen on her lover, Sir Peter makes a surprise visit to the future and transforms Cam’s twenty-first-century life into chaos of classic proportions.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Gwyn Cready is the RITA Award winning author of sexy, funny, romantic romance novels. Publishers Weekly called Tumbling Through Time, her debut, "a joy," and Seducing Mr. Darcy was named Best Paranormal Romance Novel of 2009. She lives in Pittsburgh with her family. www.cready.com

AUTHOR INTERVIEW:
Gwyn Cready was kind enough to take time to do an interview with BOOKIN' WITH BINGO. Please welcome the award winning author, Gwyn Cready!
1. Is there any personal information I can share with my readers or perhaps a website?
Here is some information from my official bio. Also, please visit me at my website at cready.com. :Gwyn Cready is the award-winning author of three novels. Publishers Weekly called Tumbling Through Time, her debut, "a joy." Her second book, Seducing Mr.Darcy, won the 2009 RITA Award for Best Paranormal Romance. Flirting with Forever, her next book, got a starred review in Publishers Weekly, who called it "a compelling romance that will leave readers breathless." Cready became a novelist after working twenty years as a brand manager. She lives in Pittsburgh, where all her novels to date have been set."
2. What is the next or current book/project you are working on?
My fourth book, Aching for Always, involves maps. Don't you love maps? I've always loved them, from the map of the Hundred Acre Wood in Winnie-the-Pooh to the map in Treasure Island to the maps on Google. They hold secrets, and there's nothing better than secrets in a book. In Aching for Always, a map holds the key to changing the past. The heroine has it. The hero wants it. Easy as that.
3. What have you just finished reading?
Reading? Ha! I wish I had more time to read. The only books I consume are the ones I listen to in my car. I just finished Christopher Buckley's memoir, Losing Mum and Pup, which was both touching and hilarious, and I'm about three hours into the 48-hour (48-hour!) An Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon. I'm also looking enviously at my husband's copy of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
4. What books would you say have made the biggest impression on you, especially starting out?
Outlander changed the world for me.
5. What gets you started on a new book? A character or story idea or….?
Hmm. Depends. Tumbling Through Time came about when I dreamily imagined a pair of shoes that were sexy, high-heeled and comfortable--in short, magical. Seducing Mr. Darcy was the result of me asking myself why Lizzy Bennet should have all the fun. Flirting with Forever was character driven. Once I read painter Peter Lely's brief biography, I knew I had to fill in the blanks. And Aching for Always came via my love for maps.
6. What is something about you that you would want people to know about you that we probably don’t know?
I am deeply in love with Stephen Colbert. I've watched the Back to the Future trilogy about a trillion times. And you will never, ever find me dressed in anything that could be remotely described as sweet.
7. What is your best advice to anyone, including young people, who want to be writers?
Do it! Write and read every day. Read each book as if it's a lesson in writing. And don't let anyone discourage you. Anyone anyone--can become a writer if they sit down often enough and write. That's all it takes.
8. What is something you would like to share with us about writing your favorite genre in general?
I think readers will love Peter Lely, my hero in Flirting with Forever. He's such a successful painter, but all he can feel is the loss he has suffered. My heroine can help him over the loss, but may lose him in the process. It's a wonderful, romantic story--the most romantic I've ever written. Becoming a romance novelist has been such a wild ride. I love every minute of it. There is nothing more satisfying than a love story in which two characters earn the right to be with one another. Congratulations, Karen, on the great success of your blog. Gwyn Cready
Thank you, Gwyn, for your kind words and the interesting interview.

I find it intresting that the author has a love for maps. I am already looking forward to her next novel involing maps since its sure to be a mystery/thriller with maybe a hint of history.

From the website interview I thought it was intresting that given the choice to be anything that she wished, she would choose to be a hawk--a vulture.

Reading her author information from her the Simon and Schuster website, I found out she was very funny! Loved that she said her best accomplishment is either raising her kids or learning to drive a stick shift...ha!
Thanks,

I think it's awesome that she admits that she has no time for reading. I would expect as much from a busy author. Sometimes authors rattle of all the books they've read or are reading and I always think, where do you find the time?

I also love the movie To Catch A Thief.

I was hooked when you mentioned time-travel romance and then when she mentioned Outlander...well, it certainly seems like a story I'd like to read.
Thanks for the chance to win!

My comment... This is a funny statement Ms. Cready ->>> "In Aching for Always, a map holds the key to changing the past. The heroine has it. The hero wants it. Easy as that."
Nothing is ever easy... I am sure you will lead us on adventure we will not forget!
Thanks for the chance to win!

+1 I love that she has "The Time Traveler's Wife" has her top 1 of top 5 books. I fell in love with it about 5 years ago and keep meaning to reread it. Now that the movie is out I probably should see the movie and then reread the book. I tend to pick the movie apart if I've recently read the book

Interesting to learn from Gwyn's site that her greatest achievements are either raising her kids or learning how to drive stick shift!
dag888888[at]yahoo[dot]com
what i found interesting in her simon & schuster author revealed was her pet peeve of "writers who abandon their duty" as she put it. I have to agree its the most annoying thing when its getting good and then the end comes and its trash.
marimasiel@gmail.com
I think its great that in her interview she encourages people to write saying that anybody can become a writer. I mean I love reading and sometimes i myself want to change a part of it but as to writing a book i imagine its more difficult than that.

Excellent interview! It's obvious that Gwyn has a terrific sense of humor and a passion for her writing. I look forward to her new book!
