The mother I admire the most is my baby sister. She is a single mom of two girls. I have no idea how she does it. Thankfully I get plenty of help from my husband.

It would be Harriet, my neighbor that passed away a couple of years ago, at the age of 89. She told me so much about what she went through to raise her children, she lost 2 to illness, and had 5 more. She was an amazing woman.

I of course admire my own mother, but I also have another mom in my life that I admire - my best friend's mother, who is my 2nd mom. She had a difficult life growing up, her parents died when she was young, and she had to grow up fast. She has been through so much in her life, but she inspires, gives, and loves so much despite it all. She gives me strength and love. I have never met someone so full of compassion in my life, and someone with such a big heart.

I admire my mother because she and my father raised my baby brother, baby sister and myself. Then, just as they should be starting to enjoy their retirement years, they turned around and adopted my baby brothers three children and started raising them. My father died a few years ago, and my mother was left to finish raising three children as well as to take care of her mother who had developed alzheimer's. Mom has a great sense of humor, and is a wonderful Christian woman who would do anything to help anyone. I can always count on her to help me out in a pinch since my ex-husband walked out on me. I have no children of my own, but if I did I would hope to be at least half the mother that Mom was to me.

1 ENTRY: TELL ME SOMETHING NICE ABOUT YOUR MOTHER, OR A MOTHER YOU KNOW AND RESPECT AND WISH TO HONOR

I love my Mom so much, She wasn't the prefect Mom growing up but were so close now that I'm an adult. I'm going to spend Mother's day with her and my grandma. My Mom's extra nice because she hates talking on the phone, But she knows how much I love talking on the phone so she takes all my 3-4 of my calls a day. :)

My Mother is the strongest person I know. She was 20 years old and a nurse in Womens Army in 1955 in San Francisco, Ca. She was unmarried and became pregnant with me. She brought me home to PA 3 days after my birth to a small town and raised me. I love & miss her as she died suddenly in 1981.

My Mom was a saint to me...she taught me so much. She was born in Mississippi...a true Southern belle, who married a "darn" Yankee (my Dad). She raised 6 kids with patience, faith, and lots of love, had many friends, and a home for anyone who needed one. I miss her so much, but know that she is with me always.

I would have to say my mom. She would come stay with me at my apartment and sleep on the couch so she could take my son to the babysitters in the morning 3 days during the week (I had to be at work at 4am) while she had to work. And since my husband has been laid off she helps in anyway she can with our 2 boys.

The mother I most admire is my own, althought she has gotten frail in recent years. She was a go getter although she didn't have a conventional job - she was the girl scout leader, the sunday school teacher, the softball score keeper and sometimes in high school the only parent there watching me play sports.

There were times I was embarassed, but now I know how truly wonderful it was.

Although my mom has now passed, I always admired her "get 'er done!" attitude. Not enough cash with 5 kids to pay a mechanic to fix her car? She would figure out how to do it herself! Need a new room addition? She studied up on wiring and drywall and plumbing and made an entire new apartment in her attic!
