MIRACLE ON THE 17TH GREEN
BY JAMES PATTERSON
& PETER DE JONGE
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Travis McKinley's life has drifted sideways. His job, his marriage, even his children all feel disconnected and distant. Has he really accomplished nothing of consequence in his life? One Christmas Day, Travis plays a round of golf and finds himself for the first time in the zone--playing like a pro. In astonishingly short order, Travis is catapulted into the PGA Senior Open at Pebble Beach, where he advances to the final round. And while his wife, his children, and a live television audience watch, a miracle takes place that changes Travis, and his family, forever.
ABOUT THE AUTHORS:
James Patterson has had more New York Times bestsellers than any other writer, ever, according to Guinness World Records. Since his first novel won the Edgar Award in 1976, James Patterson's books have sold more than 170 million copies. Mr. Patterson also writes the bestselling Women's Murder Club novels, set in San Francisco, and the top-selling New York detective series of all time, featuring Detective Michael Bennett. He writes full-time and lives in Florida with his family.
Peter de Jonge is the author of Shadows Still Remain and has coauthored three New York Times bestsellers with James Patterson. He has been a reporter for the Associated Press and a contributing writer for the New York Times Magazine. I don't play golf and I don't really see the hype, but, my hubby and son do and they would love this book.cardshark42(at)hotmail(dot)com
This looks like a very golf-infused book that hubby would be interested in.cardshark42(at)hotmail(dot)com
This book sounds interesting. I would not mind giving it a try. Unfortunately i do not know much about golf but someday i would not mind trying it.

The excerpt is great. I love the way Patterson writes, so down-to-earth. He makes writing look simple.

I've played golf twice but I didn't do well. I can hit a really straight ball but I can't get the ball into the air...I guess I was only meant to play crocheit (sp).

My husband plays golf. I took lessons and go to the range sometimes. My little boys love to play. But I don't get out on the course that often.

Other than Putt-Putt, I've never played golf although I do know it was invented by the Scots because of a very funny Robin Williams standup routine.

Great excerpt! I don't golf but I just couldn't see anyone golfing at Christmas time, I would think it would be to cold! I think I might enjoy reading this book though!

I used to play golf, before they "improved" our golf course. How is letting the swamp grow up in the middle of the fairway improving it?

I play miniature golf, but that's it for me.

I, as well, do not play golf but, I know it must be very rewarding for alot of folks. James Patterson just keeps on goin' and it's wonderful how he does it.

Oh, I can't stand golf! Chasing a little ball around a chemical-laden lawn.
But the book may be great!

My son-in-law and a group of his friends plan to play at Pebble Beach for his 40th birthday. That's dedication to golf! This book would be a great b'day gift.

I'm not a big golf lover. I watched back in the day but have not watched in a long time. The only golf I do play is miniature golf.

Our family has never golfed. Other than putput golf, which we find very fun, or we use to anyway. MY son in law grew up playinggolf though.
shundelt@yahoo.com
I think if he's worried about losing his family he shouldn't be golfing on Christmas.

I love putt putt golf, and just hitting the balls to see who hits further. I've never tried real golf. MY husband use to play growing up but doesn't anymore but he knows the game.
chirth7@yahoo.com
I think if his marriage was disintegrating he should have been at hiome not out golfing on Christmas day and if he was going to lose his job he should be looking for a new job in the paper or on the internet. But maybe he needed time to get out and think, who knows until they read the whole book.
