I love cookbooks and love to use my slow cooker! I would have to say the one I wish I could "fix and forget" would be lasagna (either italian or mexican style). I don't know how that would work!

I live in Pa Dutch country and love homemade pot pie with homemade square noodles. I will make it but it is always a pain to roll out the dough to the right thickness.

I wish I could use real Cream and not have to subsitute. I love the rich flavor of cream in my baking. When I make a cream soup it just tastes better with real cream and seems to bring out the flavors even more.

Down home cooking is probably anything fried. Fried fish, fried chicken, fried pork chops, fried fruit pies, fried potatoes.

we do try to eat healthy and limit the fried foods to once or twice a month. And they taste wonderful!

My favorite food to "fix and forget" is Beef Stew. I just toss all the ingredients into the crock pot in the morning, and then that evening I have a hearty and delicious meal ready for my family.
