STIEG LARSSON BOOKS!

A sensation across Europe—millions of copies sold
A spellbinding amalgam of murder mystery, family saga, love story, and financial intrigue.
It’s about the disappearance forty years ago of Harriet Vanger, a young scion of one of the wealthiest families in Sweden . . . and about her octogenarian uncle, determined to know the truth about what he believes was her murder.
It’s about Mikael Blomkvist, a crusading journalist recently at the wrong end of a libel case, hired to get to the bottom of Harriet’s disappearance . . . and about Lisbeth Salander, a twenty-four-year-old pierced and tattooed genius hacker possessed of the hard-earned wisdom of someone twice her age—and a terrifying capacity for ruthlessness to go with it—who assists Blomkvist with the investigation. This unlikely team discovers a vein of nearly unfathomable iniquity running through the Vanger family, astonishing corruption in the highest echelons of Swedish industrialism—and an unexpected connection between themselves.
It’s a contagiously exciting, stunningly intelligent novel about society at its most hidden, and about the intimate lives of a brilliantly realized cast of characters, all of them forced to face the darker aspects of their world and of their own lives.
Mikael Blomkvist, crusading journalist and publisher of the magazine Millennium, has decided to run a story that will expose an extensive sex trafficking operation between Eastern Europe and Sweden, implicating well-known and highly placed members of Swedish society, business, and government.
But he has no idea just how explosive the story will be until, on the eve of publication, the two investigating reporters are murdered. And even more shocking for Blomkvist: the fingerprints found on the murder weapon belong to Lisbeth Salander—the troubled, wise-beyond-her-years genius hacker who came to his aid in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and who now becomes the focus and fierce heart of The Girl Who Played with Fire.
As Blomkvist, alone in his belief in Salander’s innocence, plunges into an investigation of the slayings, Salander herself is drawn into a murderous hunt in which she is the prey, and which compels her to revisit her dark past in an effort to settle with it once and for all.

I think "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest" sounds like the most interesting of the trilogy because there is so much drama and action in this book beginning with Lisbeth Sander in the hospital in critical condition, fighting for her life. If she survives, she will go on trial for 3 murder allegations, a heavy burden, and one not at all easy to defend against. This will be a very intense scene. If Lisbeth is acquitted, she plans to exact revenge and I know when she puts her mind to something, watch out! I have this feeling, knowing a little bit about her character, that even if Lisbeth is convicted, she will try her best to escape her captors and then exact her revenge. An action-packed final book!
I haven't seen this book yet, but it must be huge! Writing this small bit is exciting, so I imagine reading this book will be an amazing experience!

Shortly before his death Stieg Larsson got a publishing deal in Sweden for his Millenium series of books. This was originally intended as a series of ten books, but due to his untimely death, this turned out to be just three, and a fourth framework for a book.
This is a real tragedy that Stieg Larsson died at the age of 50 and was only able to complete three out of the ten books that he had planned for the series. It would be interesting to see the fourth framework for the next book in the series.
Thank you,
Christine
womackcm@sbcglobal.net
I think that the THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNET'S NEST sounds the most interesting to me as the heroine is now filled with vengeance and had been buried alive. I am really curious as to how she gets out of being buried alive. I would want to read the other two books first so that I can get the full effect of the third book. I really hope that I get to win this set of books as they sound fascinating.
Thank you,

I am number 151 in the first post. While all three books sound amazing, I think the first one sounds the most interesting because, after all, its the beginning. The beginning of our relationship with the characters and the stories.
So I was suppose to break up those comments. Count the first on as comment on which book and this one as my # in the previous blog (#151).
