Suzanne Woods Fisher is the CBA bestselling author of The Choice, The Waiting, Amish Peace, and Amish Proverbs. Her interest in the Anabaptist cultures can be directly traced to her grandfather, W. D. Benedict, who was raised in the Old Order German Baptist Brethren Church in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. Benedict eventually became publisher of Christianity Today magazine. Suzanne is the host of a radio show called Amish Wisdom and her work has appeared in many magazines. She lives in California.

As a child growing up, I can remember certain things my mother would say to me and they came to be things I kept with me as an adult, and found myself saying to my son as he was growing up. Many of those were proverbs and one I remember, familiar to most, is "If you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all". I went on to use it also as a teacher and it came in very handy to take care of some hurt feelings. Think about some proverbs you may remember and I bet there are so many of them that will come to you once you start to think about it.
