THE POSTCARD KILLERS: REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY

GIVEAWAY ENDED
THE POSTCARD KILLERS

BY JAMES PATTERSON
and LIZA MARKLUND

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Paris is stunning in the summer...

NYPD detective Jacob Kanon is on a tour of Europe's most gorgeous cities. But the sights aren't what draw him--he sees each museum, each cathedral, and each cafe through the eyes of his daughter's killer.

The killing is simply marvelous...

Kanon's daughter, Kimmy, and her boyfriend were murdered while on vacation in Rome. Since then, young couples in Paris, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, and Stockholm have been found dead. Little connects the murders, other than a postcard to the local newspaper that precedes each new victim.

Wish you were here...

Now Kanon teams up with the Swedish reporter, Dessie Larsson, who has just received a postcard in Stockholm--and they think they know where the next victims will be. With relentless logic and unstoppable action,
The Postcard Killers may be James Patterson's most vivid and compelling thriller yet.
ABOUT THE AUTHORS:

James Patterson has had more New York Times bestsellers than any other writer, ever, according to Guinness World Records. Since his first novel won the Edgar Award in 1976, James Patterson's books have sold more than 170 million copies. He is the author of the Alex Cross novels, the most popular detective series of the past twenty-five years, including Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider. Mr. Patterson also writes the bestselling Women's Murder Club novels, set in San Francisco, and the top-selling New York detective series of all time, featuring Detective Michael Bennett. He writes full-time and lives in Florida with his family.

Liza Marklund

Born in 1962, Liza Marklund is one of Sweden's most popular authors of crime novels, a former journalist. She is married to Swedish producer Mikael Aspeborg. She has three children, the oldest from a former relationship.

Liza Marklund has been very successful as an author, and is also one of the major owners of the Swedish publishing house Piratförlaget.

is a Swedish journalist and author of the Annika Bengtzon series, which has sold 9 million copies in 30 languages. She lives in Sweden and Spain.

MY REVIEW:

Liza Marklund, notably the #1 bestselling author in Europe, has joined forces with James Patterson (need I say more?) to co-author this summer’s highly anticipated thriller, THE POSTCARD KILLERS. I have to say it was well worth the wait as these two authors put together a fast paced, well-written chase through Europe filled with intriguing characters and alluring locales. The excellent who-done-it is filled with twists and turns, and the requisite dose of violence, sex, and summer reading fun!

The plot revolves around a serial killing couple who is viciously murdering couples while they are vacationing in Europe. When they finish, they send picture postcards representing the murders to the local newspapers. These murders take place in major tourist areas like Rome, Paris, Madrid, and Stockholm, and from the start, readers know that the couple is Sylvia and Mac Randolph. Evidently, with the notification of the murders to the media, the Randolphs want the publicity and they are quickly dubbed “The Postcard Killers”.

With NYPD detective Jacob Kanon’s daughter being one of the first of the murdered couples while in Rome with her boyfriend, it isn’t surprising that he becomes the obsessed and dedicated cop determined to catch these monsters. The couple is responsible for bringing to Kanon’s attention a Swedish reporter, Dessie Larsson, when they send a postcard to her in Stockholm indicating someone is going to die there next.

Being now involved in this case, Dessie unwillingly finds herself drawn towards Detective Kanon and between the two of them they figure out that the Randolphs are the murderers. Readers follow this team as they are led back and forth across the world, until the story ends with readers feeling as if they were physically along for this wild ride. With what I believe to be a perfect pairing, Patterson and Marklund will hopefully work together again since they sent readers a fabulous summer sizzler in THE POSTCARD KILLERS.

Liza Marklund has written eight crime novels so her experience with mystery thrillers might be a great fit with James Patterson's writing style. I have several of James Patterson's novels and find them to be well written and as such I would love to win this novel as well. Thank you so much for hosting this giveaway.

All books written by James Patterson have to be read by me and have to be in my book collections to reread again. The best series that i love is Alex Cross. And among this series, "Kiss the Girls" is best best one. The Casanova, kidnapping all the beautiful girls. Simply awesome.
