BRUNCH WITH BINGO: THE FARM CHICKS CHRISTMAS GIVEAWAY

WELCOME TO
BOOKIN' WITH BINGO'S
"BRUNCH WITH BINGO DAY"
I AM EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THIS SUNDAY'S
"BRUNCH WITH BINGO DAY"
FOOD BOOK CHOICE IS.....
 GIVEAWAY ENDED
THE FARM CHICKS CHRISTMAS
Merry Ideas for the Holidays
BY SERENA THOMPSON
ABOUT THE BOOK:
For “Farm Chick” Serena Thompson, Christmas means a house overflowing with ornaments, lights, and cherished treasures, and the aroma of baking cookies to welcome family and friends. Here, she shows us how to spread the magic of the season, with ideas for entertaining, decorating, tree trimming, charming crafts, and 17 recipes for yummy holiday sweets-plus tips for wrapping food and gifts.

As in The Farm Chicks in the Kitchen, Serena weaves delightful stories of her family and friends throughout the book, calling forth nostalgic smiles that remind us of the importance of tradition at this special time of year.
The Farm Chicks came into being when Serena Thompson and her friend Teri Edwards held a yard sale to get rid of some of the “junk” both love to collect. From there, they parlayed their love of vintage stuff, crafts, cooking, and family into a brand that celebrates the simple and stylish. Serena Thompson maintains a website and blog where she shares the Farm Chick style, and is a contributing editor to Country Living magazine. She and her husband, Colin, live in the countryside not far from Spokane, Washington with their four boys.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
I bounced through the first years of my life in a hippie gypsy wagon, hand-built by my father, wandering the back roads of the U.S., Canada and Mexico.  My family eventually settled into a tiny cabin in the woods on property that was once inhabited by American Indians.  I spent my days searching for arrowheads, teaching myself to sew on a treadle sewing machine and to bake in a wood-burning stove, with no running water, refrigeration, or electricity in our home.

My family lived frugally and early on, inspired by my parent's thriftiness and style, I gained a clever knack for thrifty creativity and turning ordinary objects into something useful.  And I dreamed of the home I would create for my own family someday.

Now I'm married to my husband, Colin, we have four sweet boys, and my dreams have come true.  Along the way, I founded The Farm Chicks Show, created thefarmchicks.com, and authored The Farm Chicks in the Kitchen with my best friend, who has since retired from the business.
I now run The Farm Chicks on my own.  My next book, A Farm Chicks Christmas, will be available in September.  I talk about my life as an entrepreneur, wife, mom, author, and Contributing Editor for Country Living Magazine on my blog, Facebook, and Twitter.

I think of myself as the luckiest girl in the world, doing what I love day after day.  I'm so happy to have you here and hope you'll visit often.

I love that the family that she grew up with encouraged
"thrifty creativiy" and "turning ordinary objects into something useful". I have something in common with her. I learned sewing on a treadle machine. In fact, I love that better than electric. And when we built a house in Indiana, it was on land that used to belong to Indians and later a state park. So when we plowed the ground for a garden, we found arrowheads every where. It was so much fun. So, I think this book would be a lot of fun too.

I subscribed to the website and loved her blog. I want to make the Carmel Banana Hazelnut pie. And I love the way that she put books in an antique truck. I love to go antiquing and this has really put me in the mood again!
