WANTED BY SHELLEY SHEPARD GRAY (SISTERS OF THE HEART SERIES)

 GIVEAWAY ENDED
WANTED
Sisters of the Heart
BY SHELLEY SHEPARD GRAY

ABOUT THE BOOK:
For a split second, Katie feels certain she's about to receive everything she's ever wanted. . .
Twenty-year-old Katie Brenneman has always quietly fancied Jonathan Lundy. So when the brokenhearted widower asks her to help him take care of his two young girls, Katie knows it will be a trying time—yet she cannot pass up a golden opportunity to get to know this man better.
Just as she's settling into her new life, a message arrives from Katie's past, threatening to expose her darkest secrets. During her Rumspringa, her running-around years, she experimented with activities forbidden in the Amish way of life. Frightened by how far she'd strayed from her values, Katie ran back home, vowing to cut all ties with the outside world. Now her transgressions are coming back to haunt her, just as Jonathan seems willing to welcome her into his heart.

Will the past destroy Katie's chances for love? Or will Katie allow herself to accept God's love, forgive her past, and receive everything she's ever wanted?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Wanted is Shelley Shepard Gray's second novel in her Sisters of the Heart series. Before writing for the inspirational market, Shelley wrote several novels as Shelley Galloway. During this time, her books appeared on the Waldenbooks bestseller list, and she also won the prestigious Reviewers' Choice Award from Romantic Times magazine.

Before writing professionally, Shelley taught school for 10 years. She taught fifth and sixth grade in Arizona, Texas, and Colorado. When her family was transferred to Ohio, her husband encouraged her to finally give writing a serious try. He even found a local writers meeting for her to attend! After a lot of hard work and a lot of luck, she sold her third manuscript.

Shelley is an active member of her church. She volunteers on steering committees, helps with rummage sales, and helps out at the welcome center. She and her husband are also part of a small group that has been instrumental in guiding her faith.

When not writing, Shelley can usually be found with her family. Her two teenagers keep her busy and happy. They all also love to travel.

After reading this review it reminded me of an Amish book that I read this summer with the title of A Summer Secret by Kathleen Fuller. I really enjoyed reading this book and realizing the simple less complicated life that the Amish live has a lot of benefits. After reading this review I am very interested reading this Amish title as well. I think a lot people can relate to their past coming back to haunt them … I know there are things in my past that I so wish I could forget about. This book really sounds like a book I would enjoy reading so thanks for the opportunity.

I love to read about the Amish beliefs and way of life and the central theme of this book is very univeral. Things that main character did when she went to the outside world are coming back to haunt her. I have seen a documentary on the Amish who have gone into the outside world and got caught up in the vices of the outside world. This alone makes it very difficult to go back and some find that they cannot return to the old ways but the ones are able seemed much happier as per the documentary. I am curious about what it is that comes back to haunt her.

From the 'fun stuff' on Sally Shepard Gray's site, I saw that part of her writing rituals are playing solitare and reading her e-mails. Solitare makes sense to me since it requires a degree of concentration that takes you away from what you are thinking about currently and after the game, you feel refreshed.

I love reading stories about the Amish. The model on the cover reminded me instantly of the actress Holly Hunter, which in itself would be enough to get me to pick up the book and take a second look.

I love reading Amish books! This book sounds very interesting. After reading the information I definitely want to find what Katie's rumpspringa time was like and why she is returning home. I also want to read about what it was like when she came home and if she was accepted.
