FREE FALL: A FERN MICHAELS BOOK GIVEAWAY

FREE FALL
BY FERN MICHAELS

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Sooner Or Later, The Sisterhood Always Gets Their Man…
The loyal friends who make up the Sisterhood have gathered at Myra Rutledge’s beautiful Virginia home for the first time in a year, eager to talk, laugh, and share their joys and heartaches. For one of their number, it’s an evening filled with anticipation. Because tonight, over delicious food and in the company of those she trusts most, it will finally be time to tell her story—and for the Sisterhood to help plan her revenge.

Yoko Akia’s mother was only fifteen when a wealthy man swept her off her feet with promises of love. Instead, he filled her brief life with horror and misery. The Sisterhood has helped each other exact vengeance on rotten men before, but this time it’s different. Their target is none other than America’s favorite movie star—a brute who has conned the world into believing he’s Mister Perfect. But he’s about to learn that nobody—not even a powerful superstar—is above the Sisterhood’s special brand of payback...

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Webster's Collegiate Dictionary defines a biography this way: A biography is the written history of a person's life. Fern Michaels isn't a person. Fern Michaels is what I DO. Me, Mary Ruth Kuczkir. Growing up in Hastings, Pennsylvania, I was called Ruth. I became Mary when I entered the business world where first names were the order of the day. To this day, family and friends call me Dink, a name my father gave me when I was born because according to him I was `a dinky little thing' weighing in at four and a half pounds. However, I answer to Fern since people are more comfortable with a name they can pronounce.

I've been telling stories and scribbling for twenty-five years. I hope I can continue for another twenty-five years. It wasn't easy during some of those years. As I said, I had to persevere. My old Polish grandmother said something to me when I was little that I never forgot. She said when God is good to you, you have to give back. For a while I didn't know how to do that. When I finally figured it out I set up The Fern Michaels Foundation. The foundation allows me to grant four year scholarships to needy, deserving students. I then went a step further and opened pre-school and day care centers with affordable rates for single moms who are having a hard time of it. Doing Fern Michaels allows me to do this and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't thank God for being so good to me. I don't know what I'm the most proud of, the books I write, the scholarships, the pre-schools or the fact that I put my kids through college on my own with no help from anyone. Probably the latter because when all else is said and done, the only thing that matters is family.

Is Fern Michaels a great writer. No. She is however, one hell of a story teller. When people ask me what I do, I say, "I scribble and tell stories." It's a great way to make a living. The Dutch have a saying, `If you can't whistle on your way to work, you don't belong in that job.' I whistle all day long.

PRAISE FOR THE BOOK SERIES:

“An unforgettable story.” —Rendezvous on Weekend Warriors

I like the comment " ... fast-paced…puts poetic justice first." I have read books that are not fast paced and they become very boring to get through so fast paced is very important! As for another book that sounds interesting I pick: The Jury! Thanks for the opportunity.

I have seen this author on the book stand but have never read. I didn't know the premise....girl power! If I had a choice, I would probably start at the beginning, weekend warriors.

I have read several of her books and really enjoyed, yesterday,I received 'Game Over' in the mail from earning points. I like the idea of close women friends getting together to decide what way to get revenge. My mother and some of her four sisters sitting down to solve a problem.

I can't remember the names of tbe ones that I have read (not good with names) but I can the pictures so I couldn't pick out which ones I read from the oldr list (no pictures). They were all older books because I found all of them at library sales and gave them away to friends.

I checked a book sellet site and found that 'Cross Roads' and 'Deadly Deals' are often bought with the one that just recieved so I will save points for them if they are available.

Abraham Lincoln said "you can please most of the people, most of the time, some of the people, some of the time, but none of the people all of the time'. Just one of the reasons that I love your blog is that there is so much variety!!!! I love historial fiction, non fiction, women's issues, mysteries and books about other cutures.

I went back through my list of book contests that I have entered and saw one that really struck my interest, 'Left Neglected' by Lisa Genova. She wrote one of my favorite books'Still Alice'.

I, too am tired of the rich and powerfull so often getting away with whatever they do with just a slap on the wrist---so this would be a satisfying book to read. I would like to also read "Weekend Warriors" since I have not read any of the books in this series and that is the first one.

I think the favorite type of book that I like to see in giveaways are "cozy" mysteries because they are light, enjoyable reading.

I haven't read any books from this series. I like that the women are setting things right, especially since it includes vengeance on a popular, wealthy man. I'd start at the beginning with Weekend Warriors and Payback.

I love to read all different genres so like to see a variety of them in the giveaways. A particular book I'd love to see given away and possibly the whole series is the upcoming book by Jean Auel "The Land of the Painted Caves" due out 3/11. This is a series I fell in love with over 30 years ago. It surprised me as it has romance, mystery and historical information. The characters were fascinating and have managed to keep my interest for a very long time.
