WELCOME TO BOOKIN' WITH BINGO'S
"BAFFLING BINGO DAY"
I'M EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THIS THURSDAY'S
"BAFFLING BINGO DAY"
MYSTERY BOOK CHOICE IS.....
 GIVEAWAY ENDED
TOYS
BY JAMES PATTERSON
& NEIL McMAHON

ABOUT THE BOOK:
James Bond and Jason Bourne have just been topped! A battle for the world is set into unstoppable motion and Hays Baker is the only one who can save it.

Hays Baker and his wife Lizbeth possess super-human strength, extraordinary intelligence, stunning looks, a sex life to die for, and two beautiful children. Of course they do--they're Elites, endowed at birth with the very best that the world can offer. The only problem in their perfect world: humans and their toys!
The one with the most toys--dies

The top operative for the Agency of Change, Hays has just won the fiercest battle of his career. He has been praised by the President, and is a national hero. But before he can savor his triumph, he receives an unbelievable shock that overturns everything he thought was true. Suddenly Hays is on the other side of the gun, forced to leave his perfect family and fight for his life.

Now a hunted fugitive, Hays is thrown into a life he never dreamed possible--fighting to save humans everywhere from extinction. He enlists all of his training to uncover the truth that will save millions of lives--maybe even his own. James Patterson's Toys is a thriller on a hyper plane--with a hero who rivals both James Bond and Jason Bourne.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS:
James Patterson has had more New York Times bestsellers than any other writer, ever, according to Guinness World Records. Since his first novel won the Edgar Award in 1976, James Patterson's books have sold more than 170 million copies. He is the author of the Alex Cross novels, the most popular detective series of the past twenty-five years, including Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider. Mr. Patterson also writes the bestselling Women's Murder Club novels, set in San Francisco, and the top-selling New York detective series of all time, featuring Detective Michael Bennett. He writes full-time and lives in Florida with his family.

Neil McMahon is the author of several thrillers, including Dead Silver. He lives in Montana with his wife.

MY THOUGHTS/REVIEW:
TOYS by James Patterson and Neil McMahon is set in the future. In 2061, humans are known as “skunks” while a group called “Elites” are the ones in charge. Readers meet Hays Baker who is an Elite who seemingly has it all. He has a gorgeous wife and two precious children. Hays himself is an excellent specimen and has received all an Elite should hope for and more in the way of good looks and intelligence.  All in Hays' world is going well until one fateful day when he is summoned to a Toyz store where he finds a brutal attack has been performed and there are many dead.

Owen McGill, Hays partner, thinks the skunks did it and so Hays goes looking for the suspect skunks. However, while on this mission he falls and is badly hurt and winds up in the hospital. Now that he is no longer a “perfect specimen” of an Elite, he finds that now the Elites want him for other reasons…not pleasant ones but more like to torture him!

Hays tries to get away and goes to his parents’ house to find solace but instead finds the truth! It seems he was not who he thought he was all his life. He learns of his background as well as how the Elites have treated humans over the years. Hays’s life suddenly looks totally different and his world is upside down. As Hays Baker tries to assimilate this information, he finds out that the Elites are planning to do away with all humans.

How Hays and the Elites handle all this, makes up the rest of a very unusual read for me from what I am used to from James Patterson. The story moves quickly but personally, I am a “detective/Alex Cross/modern day” Patterson fan so this was not one of my favorites. It was, however, typically a quick read and also held my attention for the most part. I think fans of some of Patterson’s more sci-fi themed books will adore this one. No matter what the genre, James Patterson knows how to write and sell books without a doubt…and more power to him!

“Skunks” and “Elites” ... Interesting. Since I am far from being an excellent specimen ... hmmm I would most likely be a Skunk! LOL! This one seems way out there, but I have liked James Patterson writing; however, I know that he teams up with several other writers so the James Patterson literary engine can turn out book after book. I like the books that I have read, but I agree with you this one sounds a little sci-fi, but I would give it read if I win. Thanks for the opportunity.
