ALAFAIR BURKE FIRST ANNUAL DUFFER AWARDS ALL IN JUNE!

 ALAFAIR BURKE
FIRST ANNUAL DUFFER AWARDS
**********************************
If you love mysteries and thrillers, you’re going to have a blast with the First Annual Duffer Awards.

One of Harper Collins’s most beloved mystery writers, Alafair Burke (author of Angel’s Tip, 212, and the upcoming Long Gone ) is hosting the First Annual Duffer Awards on her website, www.AlafairBurke.com, throughout the month of June.  Not your typical awards, these are named for Alafair’s beloved French Bull Dog, “Duffer”, and are like those Yearbook Awards from high school, but for the fictional characters of some of the biggest mystery and thriller series out there.

Each day in June, two characters will be up “against” each other in a zany and ridiculous category such as “most likely to bring down the house at a karaoke party” or “most likely to drive fifteen miles out of the way for junk food” (see below).  Readers can vote for their favorite characters on the site and also make their case in the comments (there, not here).  If you post a comment beneath your vote, you'll be automatically entered to win weekly prizes including signed copies of Alafair's books and $50 gift certificates to your favorite bookseller.

The contest starts today, June 1st, will go on all month long, and visitors can vote and comment daily.  Below you’ll see the list of the author/character pairings for each day in June.  As a book blogger I was given this information to share with my readers and I wanted to give you all the chance at these prizes and this fun! Head over to The Duffers site to vote each day in June!

And of course I couldn’t tell you about The Duffers without letting you know about Alafair Burke’s fantastic new book, Long Gone, coming out June 21.  It’s her first standalone thriller, an edge of your seat novel about mistaken identity, reminiscent of Harlan Coben’s Tell No One or Laura Lippman’s What the Dead Know, her most suspenseful and accomplished yet—a one-sitting read.
