I'M EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THIS WEEK'S
SPECIAL MYSTERY BOOK CHOICE IS.....
GIVEAWAY ENDED
10TH ANNIVERSARY
10TH ANNIVERSARY
BY JAMES PATTERSON
& MAXINE PAETRO
ABOUT THE BOOK:
For every secret...
Detective Lindsay Boxer's long-awaited wedding celebration becomes a distant memory when she is called to investigate a horrendous crime: a badly injured teenage girl is left for dead, and her newborn baby is nowhere to be found. Lindsay discovers that not only is there no trace of the criminals--but that the victim may be keeping secrets as well.
For every lie...
At the same time, Assistant District Attorney Yuki Castellano is prosecuting the biggest case of her life--a woman who has been accused of murdering her husband in front of her two young children. Yuki's career rests on a guilty verdict, so when Lindsay finds evidence that could save the defendant, she is forced to choose. Should she trust her best friend or follow her instinct?
There's a different way to die!
Lindsay's every move is watched by her new boss, Lieutenant Jackson Brady, and when the pressure to find the baby begins interfering with her new marriage to Joe, she wonders if she'll ever be able to start a family. With James Patterson's white-hot speed and unquenchable action, 10th Anniversary is the most deliciously chilling Women's Murder Club book ever.
ABOUT THE AUTHORS:
James Patterson has had more New York Times bestsellers than any other writer, ever, according to Guinness World Records. Since his first novel won the Edgar Award in 1977, James Patterson's books have sold more than 205 million copies. He is the author of the Alex Cross novels, the most popular detective series of the past twenty-five years, including Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider. Mr. Patterson also writes the bestselling Women's Murder Club novels, set in San Francisco, and the top-selling New York detective series of all time, featuring Detective Michael Bennett. He writes full-time and lives in Florida with his family. PLEASE visit James Patterson's website HERE if you haven't before, or even if you have, as there is SO MUCH to see and read!
Maxine Paetro is the author of three novels, two works of nonfiction, and the coauthor of seven books with James Patterson. She lives in New York with her husband.
MY REVIEW/THOUGHTS:
It seems hard to believe that the Women’s Murder Club has its tenth book out but 10th ANNIVERSARY is indeed James Patterson and Maxine Paetro’s latest chapter in the series. Touted to feature Detective Sergeant Lindsay Boxer finally getting married to Joe Molinari as well as provide its fair share of mystery cases to solve, 10th ANNIVERSARY doesn’t disappoint as far as being another popular vehicle for Lindsay and the gals. However, one tiny thing that let me down was that the wedding was such a very small part of the story. However, the rest of the story made up for it.
Along with her partner, Rich Conklin, Lindsay has hardly said “I do” before she is involved in one of the major mysteries in the story. It involves Avis Richardson, a 15-year-old, who collapses from loss of blood which leads to Lindsay finding out that this boarding school girl had just given birth. However, there is no sign of the baby. Avis leads both Lindsay and Rich on a roller coaster ride as they try to find out where the baby is and who the father might be. Avis’s “stories” have them thinking everything from kidnapping to baby trafficking and they wonder if they will ever get the real story. This is a case that Lindsay takes personally as you will see why when you read it
Meanwhile, Cindy Thomas, still a reporter at the San Francisco Chronicle, becomes involved in a story centered around a serial rapist who is drugging and raping women in the city. Little does Cindy realize that her story will lead her to being the next victim as she gets in the way of the rapist. When Lindsay and Rich realize Cindy is missing, they set out to find her and only hope they get to her in time. They both have a personal stake in this what with Cindy being Lindsay’s good friend and Rich seriously dating her now.
Assistant District Attorney Yuki Castellano is prosecuting a murder case where the wife is said to have shot and killed her husband who is known to be cheating on her. Dr. Candace Martin, however, seems less guilty as the story progresses but then a bombshell is revealed and Yuki sees her hard work about to go to waste. How can others think this iron clad case against Martin isn’t locked up? This is all Yuki can think about except when she is sensually sidetracked by Lindsay’s new boss, Jackson Brady. Yuki finds Jackson to be of great interest, much to Lindsay’s dismay.
Claire is, of course, also there as Lindsay’s side kick and support and the story does allow them a trip down memory lane from the past ten years. The meetings for drinks and dinner are still a mainstay for “the club” while the trademark short chapters are what keep many readers, especially me, coming back for more of Patterson. 10th ANNIVERSARY was a typical, if not the most exciting, Patterson book. It did go where I thought it would but I think I would have been really upset had it not. It also kept me turning the pages with my “just one more chapter before I stop reading” mantra. I recommend 10th ANNIVERSARY for all of James Patterson’s loyal fans and for those new to the author, it is an entertaining mystery and perfect way to while away a lazy summer day!

An interesting fact about James Patterson is that he is the only author to have five new hardcover novels debut at #1 on the Best Seller list in one year.

I love the 'Women's Murder Club' Series. I am also a huge James Patterson fan.
Of course I love the story line. I don't mind if I know where the story is going either, I just sit back and enjoy.
I was amused by James Patterson's body language in the video. He was hugging himself with his arms to keep from revealing too much.

I just can't believe that the authors are letting Lindsay Boxer get married---I'm glad they don't spend too much time on, though because the mysteries are the best part of this series.
