LET'S GET COZY! SILENT KNIFE: A PREVIEW AND GIVEAWAY!

  GIVEAWAY ENDED
SILENT KNIFE
A Celebration Bay Mystery
BY SHELLEY FREYDONT
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Celebration Bay is full of yuletide cheer—but it’s hard to remain festive when someone’s out to slay Santa.

It’s Liv Montgomery’s first Christmas out of Manhattan and in Celebration Bay. They’ve got a tree to rival Rockefeller Center’s, but this year’s holidays are turning out to be a disaster. As the small town’s event planner, Liv wants everything to be perfect. Unfortunately, the local Christmas shop has been replaced by the gaudy Trim a Tree—complete with tacky ornaments and a new replacement Santa who isn’t spreading any cheer.

At the town’s annual Celebration of Lights, Trim a Tree is the only shop left unlit. Liv, furious, goes to investigate, and discovers something even less festive—the store’s new Santa has been murdered. Small-town gossip begins to stir, and Liv must clear the name of the previous town Santa just in the nick of time before the real killer ruins Christmas.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Shelley Freydont is the author of the Katie McDonald and Lindy Haggerty mystery series, and the upcoming Liv Montgomery, Celebration Bay Festival Mysteries (Berkeley Prime Crime). She has written several romance novels under the pseudonym Gemma Bruce.

Her books have been translated into seven languages. A former professional dancer and choreographer, she most recently worked on the films, Mona Lisa Smile and The Game Plan. Shelley is a member of Sisters-in-Crime, Mystery Writers of America, Romance Writers of America, and Liberty States Fiction Writers.

AN EXCERPT FROM SILENT KNIFE:
Chapter 1

“Santa’s in your office and he’s hopping mad.”

Liv Montgomery looked from her assistant Ted to the closed door of her office. “He hasn’t even come to town. What seems to be the problem?”
Ted shrugged. “He wouldn’t say.”

“That doesn’t mean you don’t know.” Ted Driscoll was a handsome sixty something man, tall, thin with a shock of thick white hair. He was slightly mysterious and the fount of local gossip. Today his usual three piece suit had been replaced with a reindeer sweater.

“No, but in this case, you’d better ask him yourself. He didn’t even say hello. Just lumbered in here and demanded to talk to the town event organizer. Since that’s you, I left him in your office. Where’s my favorite dawg today?”

“Over at the Woofery. He had a run in with an overturned garbage can, and Sharise took him in on short notice.”

Ted shuddered. “Poor thing and I was hoping to get him rehearsed for the Messiah sing-along.” TO FINISH READING THIS EXCERPT VISIT THE AUTHOR'S WEBSITE HERE.

I read the article about Japanese Puzzle boxes. There was a little bit of guozheng music in the background. I enjoyed that because I used to play it.
