ARE YOU LISTENING? X by SUE GRAFTON: A PREVIEW

WELCOME TO BOOKIN' WITH BINGO'S"
ARE YOU LISTENING? DAY"
I AM EXCITED TO SHARE WITH YOU ABOUT
THIS RECENT AUDIO BOOK I RECEIVED

X
READ BY JUDY KAYE
BY SUE GRAFTON
X Will Be Out This Week on August 25!

ABOUT THE AUDIO BOOK:
Of #1 New York Times–bestselling author Sue Grafton, NPR’s Maureen Corrigan said, “Makes me wish there were more than 26 letters.” With only two letters left, Grafton’s many devoted readers will share that sentiment.

X:  The number ten. An unknown quantity. A mistake. A cross. A kiss.

X:  The shortest entry in Webster’s Unabridged. Derived from Greek and Latin and commonly found in science, medicine, and religion. The most graphically dramatic letter. Notoriously tricky to pronounce: think xylophone.

X:  The twenty-fourth letter in the English alphabet.

Sue Grafton’s X: Perhaps her darkest and most chilling novel, it features a remorseless serial killer who leaves no trace of his crimes. Once again breaking the rules and establishing new paths, Grafton wastes little time identifying this sociopath. The test is whether Kinsey can prove her case against him before she becomes his next victim.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Sue Grafton first introduced Kinsey Millhone in the Alphabet Series in 1982 and since then, both writer and heroine have become icons and international best sellers. Ms. Grafton is a writer who consistently breaks the bonds of genre while never writing the same book twice. Her recognitions include the Cartier Diamond Dagger, bestowed by the British Crime Writers’ Association, and the Mystery Writers of America Grand Master Award. She has also won three Shamus Awards, three Anthony Awards, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from Bouchercon, and the Ross Macdonald Literary Award. She lives in Montecito, California, and Louisville, Kentucky.

SOME OTHER BOOKS BY SUE GRAFTON:

 PRAISE FOR SUE GRAFTON'S WORK:
“Lesser authors churn out books. Grafton continues to knock them out of the park.” —Scott Coffman, Louisville Courier-Journal

“Just beneath the extroverted mask she presents at bookstore appearances is the deeply contemplative writer still determined to stretch her chops and chart territory that removes any semblance of a comfort zone.” —Sarah Weinman, Los Angeles Times

MY THOUGHTS:
Thanks again to the folks at Penguin Random House Books and my good friend Richard for getting this latest Sue Grafton Audio Book to me. I have to say I believe I may have read one of her other books a long way back and am now anxious to read "X". My only fear is that I will like it like millions of other readers who make her the best selling author that she is, and then I will have the whole alphabet (just about) to go through to read all the rest! I shall let you know if that happens. Meanwhile, for you Grafton fans, I know you are thrilled there is yet another "letter" to read! It will be out this coming Tuesday, August 25!

I have read the reviews that her books are great but have yet to read one of them! I have been entering the giveaways for this particular book four times so far on GoodReads. I hope that this post brings me luck and I will win it on the next time!!!!

I read A is for Alphabet way back when it came out, loved it, and have eagerly awaiting each new letter. Going to an author signing later this month, cannot wait!

I am so far behind in the alphabet, every year it seems more insurmountable to catch up and read them all. As long as we're admitting our 'shortcomings', I've only read A and B!!
