SEE ME
Read by Christopher Ryan Grant

ABOUT THE AUDIO BOOK:
See me just as I see you . . .

Colin Hancock is giving his second chance his best shot. With a history of violence and bad decisions behind him and the threat of prison dogging his every step, he's determined to walk a straight line. To Colin, that means applying himself single-mindedly toward his teaching degree and avoiding everything that proved destructive in his earlier life. Reminding himself daily of his hard-earned lessons, the last thing he is looking for is a serious relationship.

Maria Sanchez, the hardworking daughter of Mexican immigrants, is the picture of conventional success. With a degree from Duke Law School and a job at a prestigious firm in Wilmington, she is a dark-haired beauty with a seemingly flawless professional track record. And yet Maria has a traumatic history of her own, one that compelled her to return to her hometown and left her questioning so much of what she once believed.

A chance encounter on a rain-swept road will alter the course of both Colin and Maria's lives, challenging deeply held assumptions about each other and ultimately, themselves. As love unexpectedly takes hold between them, they dare to envision what a future together could possibly look like . . . until menacing reminders of events in Maria's past begin to surface.

As a series of threatening incidents wreaks chaos in Maria's life, Maria and Colin will be tested in increasingly terrifying ways. Will demons from their past destroy the tenuous relationship they've begun to build, or will their love protect them, even in the darkest hour?

Rich in emotion and fueled with suspense, SEE ME reminds us that love is sometimes forged in the crises that threaten to shatter us . . . and that those who see us for who we truly are may not always be the ones easiest to recognize. - See more at: http://www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/nicholas-sparks/see-me/9781619691360/#sthash.G8up2rRz.dpuf

SOME OTHER BOOKS BY NICHOLAS SPARKS:

PRAISE FOR NICHOLAS SPARKS:
A made-for-Hollywood storyline; the brooding hero in the pouring rain. Look no further than Nicholas Sparks. Stylist Sparks is more than just a bestselling author of romantic fiction though, he's a pop culture phenomenon Irish Independent You always know where you are with Nicholas Sparks, and it's a place I'm always happy to while away a couple of hours. Here's another compelling sob story that Hollywood won't be able to resist. Irish Independent An absorbing page-turner packed with the beachside lifestyle detail that is (a) Sparks hallmark-- Daily Mail

MY THOUGHTS/REVIEW:
SEE ME is yet another romance novel from Nicholas Sparks but one that is slightly different from most of his other work. Although SEE ME is still a story about relationships and love, it also is a suspenseful story with many twists and turns to keep readers reading. The two main characters, Colin and Maria, are well fleshed out and thus create a character study for Sparks' enthusiasts to enjoy getting to know. Colin and Maria meet by chance and how they come together, and who and what tries to keep them apart, makes for a complicated and powerful thriller.  SEE ME is still a trademark Sparks romantic narrative but the twists and turns make readers keep turning pages. With such flawed characters, is there a chance they won't get together after all? Can that happen in a Sparks' story? Read or listen to SEE ME and find out. Fans of Sparks will find this one of his most intriguing to date.

See Me doesn't sound like a typical romance story (in a good way). I do like the twists that make the story more interesting.

I was just thinking as I got down to your review, that it seemed a little different than his usual formula.

What draws me to Nicholas Sparks is not the love stories but his ability to write with emotion. With this book, the twists and turns pull me in.

Wow, so many things! Love listening to books....have not read this author's books before, only seen movies based on his books, so he is still a new author to me. As a former jail/prison ministry volunteer and married to a man who works with alcoholics and addicts in a treatment setting - I am absolutely drawn to stories of men and women turning their lives around. Maria's background sounds intriguing, and I would love to 'hear' how their friendship turns into more...see the suspense. Awesome! jeaniedannheim *at* ymail *dot* com

I didn't know that 'The Notebook' was being put together for a TV series - that would be interesting to see! Especially as a senior caregiver, it would also be a learning experience to be reminded of the full life of love, family, and memories each person with dementia had before the disease robbed them. jeaniedannheim *at* ymail *dot* com
