BAFFLING BINGO MYSTERY BOOK DAY: THE EMPEROR'S TOMB REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY

WELCOME TO
BOOKIN' WITH BINGO'S
"BAFFLING BINGO DAY"
I'M EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THIS THURSDAY'S
"BAFFLING BINGO DAY"
MYSTERY BOOK CHOICE IS.....
GIVEAWAY ENDED
THE EMPEROR'S TOMB
BY STEVE BERRY

ABOUT THE BOOK:
The tomb of China’s First Emperor, guarded by an underground army of terra-cotta warriors, has remained sealed for more than 2,000 years. Though it’s regarded as one of the greatest archaeological sites in the world, the Chinese government won’t allow anyone to open it. Why?

That question is at the heart of a dilemma faced by former Justice Department operative Cotton Malone, whose life is shattered when he receives an anonymous note carrying an unfamiliar Web address. Logging on, he sees Cassiopeia Vitt, a woman who’s saved his life more than once, being tortured at the hands of a mysterious man who has a single demand: Bring me the artifact she’s asked you to keep safe. The only problem is, Malone doesn’t have a clue what the man is talking about, since Cassiopeia has left nothing with him. So begins Malone’s most harrowing adventure to date—one that offers up astounding historical revelations, pits him against a ruthless ancient brotherhood, and sends him from Denmark to Belgium to Vietnam then on to China, a vast and mysterious land where danger lurks at every turn.

GUEST REVIEWER:
BOOKIN' WITH BINGO is very excited to have Guest Reviewer, Larry DeLeon, Managing Director of Enventys Direct, and Supervising Producer of Bouncing Brains Productions, giving us his take on the latest Steve Berry novel, THE EMPEROR'S TOMB. Thank you for taking time from your busy schedule, Larry!
"Once again, Steve Berry shows why he is a best selling author.  The Emperor's Tomb is a fast-paced exciting novel of intrigue, action, great characters, and even a little education, all wrapped into one non-stop ride. Berry brings back ex-Justice department operative Cotton Malone.  Now attempting retirement as a bookseller, Malone is pulled into a dangerous adventure that takes him this time into a power struggle in China with a colorful cast of characters and the balance of power in the world at stake. If you like action best sellers (and would like a quick course in Chinese history),  and have read anything by Steve Berry, you’ll love this book. Caution- Some people might be offended by this representation of Chinese culture. However, if you’re looking for reality, stick to non-fiction! I loved it!"...Larry DeLeon

MY THOUGHTS ON THE EMPEROR'S TOMB:
With Cotton Malone back, that is all I need to hear! I am a huge fan of this series and if you haven't read Berry's books, you will want to. While THE EMPEROR'S TOMB can easily stand on its own, I personally recommend that you have the rest of the books in this series on hand as once you read one, you will want to read them all. If you choose to read them in order, here is the way to go: The Templar Legacy, The Alexandria Link, The Venetian Betrayal, The Charlemagne Pursuit, and The Paris Vendetta. Don't miss THE EMPEROR'S TOMB out this month from Ballantine Books with Random House Publishing.

This is a new author to me, that alone would make me want to read the book. I saw that he and his wife started a history matters organization. That would mean he is very accurate with the historical details in his books. That is really important to me.I would love to read the book.

I think the work Berry is doing with the soldiers and the USO is wonderful. I read about it also on the Huffington Post.

I don't read mystery books often, but I seem to enjoy them when I do. This book seems very suspenseful...I want to find out what the artifact is and if he will be able to save his friend. I kind of want to read the books in order from what the reviewer said. This author's books must be good if he gets such high praise on them. I like that he is from St. Augustine and that he and his wife founded History Matters.

I haven't read anything by this author yet. One of the reviewers said that the reqader may be offended by the representation of Chinese culture. What I would do if lucky enough to win this book would be to refute where the book is wrong in my review which I put on Amazon.com, GoodReads and so on. I am interested in this book for the mystery and the suspense.

I haven’t read any of Steve Berry’s novels, but this one does sound interesting. Historical past set in modern day China and the genre of mystery thriller sounds absolutely perfect!

Not knowing much about this author I did some research and found he has written the following fiction:

The Alexandria Link
The Amber Room
The Charlemagne Pursuit
The Emperor's Tomb
The Paris Vendetta
The Romanov Prophecy
The Templar Legacy
The Third Secret
The Venetian Betrayal
The Devil's Due(ss)

I would very much like to win “The Emperor’s Tomb” so thanks for the opportunity.

I think I would like to read his 'Amber Room'. This novel is his first one and he had 85 rejections before it was accepted for publishing. That shows that he has one writer attribute that is very valuable-persistance.

My BF brother gave me The Templer Legacy to read and it still sits on my TBR pile. He assured me I would love this book. The fact that someone is being tortured for an artifact of which Malone has no clue sounds very intriguing.
