ARE YOU LISTENING? FRIDAYS: OOGY, AN AUDIO BOOK GIVEAWAY

WELCOME TO
BOOKIN' WITH BINGO'S
"ARE YOU LISTENING? DAY"
I AM EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THIS FRIDAY'S
"ARE YOU LISTENING? DAY"
AUDIO BOOK CHOICE IS.....

GIVEAWAY ENDED
OOGY
BY LARRY LEVIN
READ BY LARRY LEVIN and JOE BARRETT

ABOUT THE AUDIO BOOK:
In the bestselling tradition of Rescuing Sprite comes the story of a puppy brought back from the brink of death, and the family he adopted.

In 2002, Larry Levin and his twin sons, Dan and Noah, took their terminally ill cat to the Ardmore Animal Hospital outside Philadelphia to have the beloved pet put to sleep. What would begin as a terrible day suddenly got brighter as the ugliest dog they had ever seen--one who was missing an ear and had half his face covered in scar tissue--ran up to them and captured their hearts. The dog had been used as bait for fighting dogs when he was just a few months old. He had been thrown in a cage and left to die until the police rescued him and the staff at Ardmore Animal Hospital saved his life. The Levins, whose sons are themselves adopted, were unable to resist Oogy's charms, and decided to take him home.

Heartwarming and redemptive, OOGY is the story of the people who were determined to rescue this dog against all odds, and of the family who took him home, named him "Oogy" (an affectionate derivative of ugly), and made him one of their own.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Larry Levin and his family live in a suburb of Philadelphia, PA. He is an attorney in solo practice. He and his wife, Jennifer, have been married for twenty-six years. Their sons, Noah and Dan, are eighteen. Oogy is eight.

I can't understand people that abuse animals. We have two Chihuahuas and one was purchased as a puppy and the second one we obtained from an animal shelter. The people at the animal shelter told us that Milie was abused and as such would take a lot of patience to regain her trust. I found out very quickly that trust would not come quickly. The interesting thing is that my wife and Milie seemed to bond the very first day, but for me it took many bites and growls and over 18 months to gain her trust. She now knows that I love her and will not harm her. I know first hand what happens to animals that are abused so for that reason alone I would love to listen to Oogy ... I am sure it would bring back many memories of Milie. Thanks for the opportunity.

I Think this would be to hard a story for me to read. I give to animals causes because there's not enough people standing up for them. I can't stand to hear of abuse on animals, it's like it never leaves me once I hear it and that Micheal Vick I hate with a passion and he never should have gotten his career back as far as I'm concerned!!!
But My mom Loves dogs and story's like this just make her mad, when they make me overwhelmingly sad. So I know she's love to read this story!!

I'd love to read this story and I wish everyone was made to read it, If only that were possible to get those who abuse to see themselves and what they are doing in a different light. Sometimes when your the one say spanking the dog, it doesn't seem wrong or over the top to you, but what does the person watching see. For other's eyes, these abusers could see how wrong they are. If only it was possible. If every parents would teach their children how lucky we are to be blessed with pets in our lives and to always care for them to the best of our ability!!
