A Cupcake Bakery Mystery
BY JENN MCKINLAY
ABOUT THE BOOK:
In the eighth in the New York Times bestselling
series by the author of Dark Chocolate Demise, the
Fairy Tale Cupcake crew goes double or nothing in
Vegas…
Melanie Cooper and Angie DeLaura are taking a gamble by opening their first franchise of the Fairy Tale Cupcakes Bakery, so where better to hit the jackpot than in Vegas? Business manager Tate Harper has lined up a meeting with Holly Hartzmark, a former showgirl who’s looking to bring Mel and Angie’s sweet treats to Sin City, but Mel isn’t so sure she’s ready to hand her recipes over to a complete stranger—especially one as brash as Holly.
But after the potential bakery location gets blown up, Mel begins seeing another side to Holly—one that reminds her very much of herself. Determined to help a kindred spirit, Mel sets out to discover who is trying to keep the bakery from cashing in. But with a murderous mischief maker on the loose, the odds are stacking up against a happy ending for Mel and her friends…

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Pseudonym for Lucy Lawrence.
Pseudonym: Josie Belle.
Jenn
McKinlay is what is known as a dessert-freakosaurus. She has been known
to eat leftover birthday cake for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the
frozen top tier of her wedding cake didn’t stand a chance of seeing its
first anniversary. Luckily, her husband is more of a salt guy. Since the
arrival of the hooligans (her sons), she has honed her culinary skills
to include cupcakes and has baked and frosted cupcakes into the shape of
cats, mice and outerspace aliens to name just a few. Writing a mystery
series based upon one of her favorite food groups (cupcakes) is as
enjoyable as licking the beater and she can’t wait to whip up the next
one. She is the author of another mystery series under the name Lucy
Lawrence and lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with her musician husband
Chris, their two sons, two cats, one dog and one fish.

I am a fan of the A Cupcake Bakery Mystery series, and I can't wait to see what happens when Mel, Angie, and Tate arrive in Las Vegas! Starting a franchise of the Fairy Tale Cupcakes Bakery sounds like fun (and a little scary).

At her website, I want to give a shout out to her Decoupage series, written as Lucy Lawrence. They were my first intro to Jenn and worth going back and finding if you missed them!

Ooh, I love this series! I always thought Jenn Mckinlay was her real name and Lucy Lawrence was the pen name. A woman that can eat leftover birthday cake for breakfast is my kind of gal!
