ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Wahida Clark was born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey. She is no stranger to the hard work and sacrifices that breeds success. This Jersey girl owned and operated multiple businesses in Trenton, NJ and Decatur, GA. She decided to write street fiction while incarcerated at the women's Federal Prison Camp in Lexington, Kentucky. She was crowned the Queen of Thug Love Fiction by Nikki Turner, the Queen of Hip Hop Fiction. Wahida's style of writing is the 'TEMPLATE' for street lit. So much so, that the Triple Crown Author, Keisha Erving copied her style, words and even used her characters names. Go to gorillaconvict.com and urbanbooksource.com for more on this deceit called plagiarism.

But when you read her novels, they are so real you are convinced of one of three things: you know the characters, you want to know the characters, or you a character. Her Essence, Don Divas and Black Issues Book Reviews, bestselling novels include: the trilogy Thugs and the Women Who Love Them, Every Thug Needs a Lady, and Thug Matrimony, Payback is a Mutha, and its highly anticipated follow up “Payback With Ya Life.” All published by Kensington/Dafina Books.

Wahida is the first Street Lit author to land multiple publishing deals with two major publishers all while serving an eight and a half years federal prison sentence. She says it wasn’t easy.

At press, she has just completed the follow up to Payback is a Mutha, entitled, Payback With Ya Life and is now working on ‘Thug Luvin’, part 4 to her ‘Thug ‘ Series. She is also Vice President of the non-profit organization, “Prodigal Sons and Daughters,” a re-entry program for those previously incarcerated, as well as support group for at-risk youth. Anyone interested in offering assistance to this life changing program can contact them at....Visit her at www.myspace.com/wahidaclark, www.wahidaclark.org or write her at P.O. Box 8520, Newark, NJ 07108.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

THUG LOVIN'

Tasha and Trae, the hood's favorite couple, are still together following the events of Thug Matrimony. Even with their relocation to sunny Los Angeles, the drama of New York cannot be escaped. From running a nightclub to dealing with models, shady lawyers, big money, new kinds of temptations, seductions, and drugs-not to mention new love interests-can this infamous couple weather all the storms and keep it together?

ABOUT THE BOOK:

PAYBACK WITH YA' LIFE

In the sequel to one of Wahida's most successful titles [Payback is a Mutha], old scores are settled and before long, new tensions arise.

Still recovering from the suicide of her best friend, Shan now pregnant by a married man is forced to make major decisions in her life. Ready to leave the fast life behind, Shan believes a move to Detroit will help her become a stronger woman-but someone wants revenge against Shan's brother and is willing to destroy Shan in the process.

Torn over his love for his sister and his desire to get back on top of the drug game, Shan's brother, Peanut knows the danger of the streets. Old beefs become new scores and before long, a turf war is raging. With the stakes as high as they've ever been, only a few people will be left standing-and Shan is determined to be one of them.

MY INTERVIEW WITH
WAHIDA CLARK!

I want to thank Wahida Clark for agreeing to an interview today.
Here are a few questions my readers would like to know about you.

What have you just finished reading?

I have a habit of reading multiple books at a time. Whatever mood strikes me. I just finished reading Cheetah by Missy Jackson, No B.S. Direct Marketing, and Predatory Game by Christine Feehan.

What books would you say have made the biggest impression on you, especially starting out?

The Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah and the Writer’s Market

What gets you started on a new book? A character or story idea or….?

A looming deadline. lol

What is something about you that you would want people to know about you that we probably don’t know?

I am an introvert.

What is your best advice to anyone, including young people, who want to be writers?

Finish what you are working on. Finish. Finish. Finish. Don’t simply talk about finishing or how you need to finish. FINISH!

What is something you would like to share with us about writing your favorite genre in general?

I am very critical of all fiction. And I have yet to or, better yet, I’m still aiming to write that book which will make me swoon.

Thank you, Wahida! I know my readers enjoyed that, and now to the Giveaway!
