ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Wahida Clark was born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey. She is no stranger to the hard work and sacrifices that breeds success. This Jersey girl owned and operated multiple businesses in Trenton, NJ and Decatur, GA. She decided to write street fiction while incarcerated at the women's Federal Prison Camp in Lexington, Kentucky. She was crowned the Queen of Thug Love Fiction by Nikki Turner, the Queen of Hip Hop Fiction. Wahida's style of writing is the 'TEMPLATE' for street lit. So much so, that the Triple Crown Author, Keisha Erving copied her style, words and even used her characters names. I want to thank Wahida Clark for agreeing to an interview today.

Here are a few questions my readers would like to know about you.

What have you just finished reading?

I have a habit of reading multiple books at a time. Whatever mood strikes me. I just finished reading Cheetah by Missy Jackson, No B.S. Direct Marketing, and Predatory Game by Christine Feehan.

What books would you say have made the biggest impression on you, especially starting out?

The Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah and the Writer’s Market

What gets you started on a new book? A character or story idea or….?

A looming deadline. lol

What is something about you that you would want people to know about you that we probably don’t know?

I am an introvert.

What is your best advice to anyone, including young people, who want to be writers?

Finish what you are working on. Finish. Finish. Finish. Don’t simply talk about finishing or how you need to finish. FINISH!

What is something you would like to share with us about writing your favorite genre in general?

I am very critical of all fiction. And I have yet to or, better yet, I’m still aiming to write that book which will make me swoon.
