IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT
BY LISA DALE
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Sometimes love finds you when you least expect it. Lana Biel has always wanted to shake the dust of Vermont off her feet and see the world, one exotic country after another. But when a lighthearted spring fling changes her life forever, she turns to the one man whose strong shoulders can lighten any burden: her best friend, Eli Ward. Eli has always been there for Lana--after all, that's what best friends do. But Lana isn't the only one hiding something. Eli is keeping secrets of his own that threaten their relationship. Yet as summer turns to fall, new desires awaken between them, even as old fears tear them apart. Then, when another Vermont winter fills the valleys with snow, Eli and Lana are given the chance for an adventure greater than they ever dreamed possible...and a love that will last for all time.

REVIEW:
With two sisters in Vermont and both with different dreams and agendas, you know there is going to be trouble in this romantic, emotional modern tale. However, I thought at times it reminded me of George Bailey in "It's A Wonderful Life". Lana Biel wanted to travel and leave to see the world but winds up staying behind long enough to take care of his sister Karin, who only wants one thing and that is a baby of her own. As you see it coming, Lana has a night of bad decisions, it is she who winds up pregnant and all their lives will never be the same. Lana turns to her best friend, Eli, who is a rock for Lana to lean on. Unfortunately, he has harbored hidden feelings for her and they only grow stronger the more he is around her. Eli comes to a point that he feels he can no longer keep it to himself while Lana frets about her situation which also includes caring for Karin who loves her wildflower farm. Will Karin wind up caring for the baby and make her happy? Will Lana finally get to see the world? OR, will Eli's true feelings come to light and turn every one's world upside down? This is a modern day tale of romance and regret, dilemma and desire. What will happen to the players? You will have to find out by reading to see just It Happened One Night by Lisa Dale

Lisa's mother will gladly talk up her daughter's success as a writer, but she refers questions about "the love scenes" back to Lisa!

I would imagine if I wrote a book about an overbearing mother that I would feel alittle uncomfortable letting my mother read too!
this books looks great and I would love to win! Thanks!

At some point the child becomes the parent...when the "adult questions" are to be presented to the child. And along those same lines, way in the future the child becomes the caregiver. Interesting.

+1 Lisa's like my mom. Although, if I wrote something sexy and erotic in a novel, her eyeballs would be right there devouring everything. LOL

+1 Nice review and now I'm really intrigued about this book.

I think it's great that her mom is NOT overbearing like the character mom Lisa wrote about in her first book. And I imagine there's many romance authors out there who may have been reluctant to have mom read their first romantic scenes! Thanks for the chance to win It Happened One Night.

interesting role reversal she had with her mother now referring "adult questions" to her.
Thanks for hosting this giveaway.

Sounds like a very supportive mom. That's awesome. And I totally know what you mean with feeling uncomfortable. Whenever I'm watching a movie with my mom and a more sexualized scene comes on, it gets so weird. haha. Great post though. :)

I love that her mom said she could always ask her any "adult" questions she has. Sounds like they are close.

Enjoyed the story about her mother. Love scenes tend to make family members nervous...but it still can make ya laugh.

I laughed when I read how excited Lisa was when she told her mom about her book but then didn't want her to read it.

I can see where Lisa would be afraid her mother would think she was writing about her. Even though the mothers were NOT alike, we mom's are a paranoid bunch!!LOL!! Thanks, Sue

I share the feeling of not wanting my mother to read my writing! Some stuff is awkward to let someone that close to you read.

Somtimes, getting along with your mother is a headache. I'm glad she doesn't have this issue.
