ARE YOU LISTENING? DAY"
I AM EXCITED TO SHARE WITH YOU ABOUT
THIS RECENT AUDIO BOOK I RECEIVED
GREEK HEROES
READ BY JESSE BERNSTEIN
BY RICK RIORDAN
ABOUT THE AUDIO BOOK:
Who cut off Medusa’s head? Who was raised by a she-bear? Who tamed Pegasus? And whatever happened to that Golden Fleece? It takes a demigod to know the answers, and Percy Jackson can fill you in on all the daring deeds of Perseus, Atalanta, Bellerophon, and the rest of the major Greek heroes. Told in the funny, irreverent style listeners have come to expect from Percy (I’ve had some bad experiences in my time, but the heroes I’m going to tell you about were the original old-school hard-luck cases. They boldly screwed up where no one had screwed up before. . . .), this story collection will become the new must-have classic for Rick Riordan’s legions of devoted fans—and for anyone who needs a hero.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
For fifteen years, Rick taught English and history at public and private middle schools in the San Francisco Bay Area and in Texas. In 2002, Saint Mary’s Hall honored him with the school’s first Master Teacher Award.
His adult fiction has won the top three national awards in the mystery genre – the Edgar, the Anthony and the Shamus.
His first Percy Jackson book The Lightning Thief was a New York Times Notable Book for 2005. The Sea of Monsters was a Child Magazine Best Book for Children for 2006 and a national bestseller. The third title, The Titan’s Curse, made the series a #1 New York Times bestseller, and the fourth title, The Battle of the Labyrinth, had a first printing of one million copies. The series concluded with The Last Olympian, which was also a major national bestseller.
Rick Riordan now writes full-time. He lives in Boston with his wife and two sons.

MY THOUGHTS:
Thanks to Richard and the great people at Penguin Random House, I can finally listen to a Rick Riordan book. As a fan of children's literature, having taught school for 38 years, I adore finding authors I haven't read and can then hopefully recommend them to others, especially my 5-year-old grandson who loves reading! I believe being of Greek heritage, it might give us an edge in a little background for the Riordan series. I hope to listen to this when my grandson returns to school next week so that when I do have time with him, I will have a new author for him to learn about. I KNOW many of you are familiar with Rick Riordan and his books. Middle grade elementary students especially are wild about him so now I can find out what all the excitement is about. If you have a young reader, or like the theme, grab up this new Percy Jackson book. I bet you won't be disappointed.

How fun! We are big fans of the Percy Jackson series here, and I admit, I am curious to check out the beginning of his next series. I understand it will involve Norse gods.
I have read several books on Greek Mythology so I feel pretty up on the subject. It is fascinating though!
