I never got to take dance class. I always wanted to, but we were dirt poor growing up.

On Chris Dudley's website I found out about the Camps for Diabetics where they teach kids from 10 to 17 years of age to play sports while controlling their diabetes. I think this is a great program, and since diabetes runs in my family, I always try to learn what I can.

I did want to take dance lessons but never got the chance because I was an extremely shy child and scared to be in front of others. Now, my sister who is 18yrs younger than I am doesn't suffer from shyness, and loves to dance in front of anyone :)

I think Dudley's website was great and very informative. I like that he runs the Chris Dudley Basketball Camp and it helps kids who want to be athletes and very active also learn how to do so with diabetes.

I try to keep an eye out for whatever is going on in the neighborhood to help out if needed (not a busybody, tho). Take out trash cans, let them know if car lights are left on, dogs are out, etc.

We like to bake cookies for our neighbors during the holiday season. Our neighborhood has become pretty quiet of late, as many houses stand empty on our street in the economic downturn.

At the Chris Dudley Foundation website, I learned that the organization hosts camps and clinics to help kids learn how to play an intensive sport while controlling their diabetes. :) Great foundation!

As a kid, both the Little House and Anne series made a huge impression on me. From the historical aspect to dealing with family issues and just girls growing up, I read and re-read them all.

The only books that have made a tremendous impact on my life are the medical texts I read to become a nurse. (Probably not what you were looking for but they made me who I am)

We like to bake goodies and take them to some of our elderly neighbors or sometimes even just put nice little notes in their door for them to find. Everyone likes to know that people care and are thinking of them!
