MY REVIEW:

The elderly neighbors were pretty set in their ways. They were always griping and not very happy. There were so many things that they didn't like. When new, younger neighbors move into their neighborhood and invite lots of relatives for a reunion, the original people living there don't like it one bit. One by one as the family and visitors step off the bus, the neighbors are complaining...about the pets, the noise, the children...you name it and they hated it.

What this colorful book does is shows how people must be kinder to each other and more accepting of different kinds of people. In our technology oriented world where we can go days without seeing or even talking to other humans, it shows how much we need to get along with each other. A world of peace has to start somewhere. Surprisingly, when the neighbors were invited to partake in parts of the reunion, they were shocked at how much they really like many of the things that the new group had to offer. I cute book, with amazing illustrations, is good for 4-6 year olds who are learning about sharing and getting along well with neighbors. Parents who read this with their children can talk to them about what being a good neighbor means and how being friendly and tolerant is important in getting along with others. If anything can help illustrate the old adage of "Love Thy Neighbor", this little book can.
